Target seeks to entice workers with pay of up to $24 an hour

The Minneapolis-based discount retailer said Monday that it will adopt minimum wages that range from $15 to $24 an hour, with the highest pay going to hires in the most competitive markets. It currently pays a universal starting wage of $15 an hour
So will they raise prices by 60%?

Yeah, but who wants to work where they are apt to get looted and shot?

If you regularly buy items there, some of them have increased by 10%-15%. If a 60% increase in wages represents only 10%-15% of their operating costs, it's already been addressed.

Good way to end up with a lot less stores for pushing buttons that a monkey could do

Good for their workers. If your business wants good and dependable workers, they have to be willing to pay for them.
Sounds like capitalism at work to me

No. Why would they do that?

You do realize George Soros has a controlling interest in Target?

So you don't know about the minimum wage...how old are you anyway?

Not that easy anymore. Low pay is why most RNs now travel for $100+/hr, but now congress wants to limit Travel Nurse pay since local hospitals are severely understaffed.
It'd be like congress stepping in on Walmart's behalf and saying Target can't pay their staff $24/hr because it's bad for other stores. Stupid.

Target’s vivid and widely identified logo is their blessing and their curse. When a riot breaks out, I think looters are subconsciously attracted to Target’s signage.

You do realize hospitals choose to be understaffed. Look at OLOL in BR, they literally have a university to train nurses and have you ever looked into the qualifications to become a RN there. They could easily produce more RN’s each year but they choose not to. LSUE has over 100 qualified applicants each year and only accept 30 students. They’ll give you thousands of excuses why there’s a shortage, but you ever notice how there’s never a shortage of engineers and lawyers. The Hospitals coordinate with the Universities to limit the total amount of graduates.

That's more of an indictment of how shitty OLOL pays their staff. That said, a lot of hospitals screw over their people. It's one reason why I have enjoyed watching these HR departments squirm at the prospect of having to pay people more. Say what you want about the younger generation, but they aren't taking the slave wages previous generations did.
Honestly, you'd be stupid to take a $24/hr job in BR wiping dirty asses and charting on a bunch of dementia addled drug addicts. Go travel and make $50-100/hr wiping asses and charting on a bunch of dementia addled drug addicts in another city.
