Is Carter even campaigning? He’s been like the invisible man so far.

I haven’t seen anything, but I haven’t seen much from Watson other than a few yard signs.
No one is out here in SG firing up the troops.

Wicker may have had a good presser, but not being able to produce copies of her tax returns a week after being challenged seriously raises questions about her ability to run this parish.

Did she not produce copies? I thought the issue was that the LDR could not prove she turned them in.

I thought her CPA produced the copies. But a copy doesn't necessarily prove they got filed.

It's a dumb reason to stop someone from running, but I think that is the issue (not sure though).

Right now Watson and Wicker are 1a and 1b for me. I can see myself voting for either. Just need to do more research and hear more of their platforms. Carter is a ghost so I'm not taking him serious until I see him take the race seriously. He has huge donor power potential if/when he does.

If she produced copies then that’s different. If that’s the case I apologize.

Agree. I like Carter but I think the recent rap on him is that he is 'low energy.'

The court’s logic in previous cases, as pointed out in the dissent, is that they aren’t supposed to be DQing candidates unnecessarily.

If it is reasonable to assume she filed, she should be considered eligible. And the fact that she has filed multiple other years in the same timeframe while LDR has a history of losing returns tells me she likely filed it and they lost it. ESPECIALLY if paper copies were involved.

As pointed out in the court filing, she claims to have filed the 2015 and 2016 returns in the same envelope and received a refund for 2015. If those returns weren’t batched correctly by the mail room, they may decide that the second return is an attachment and not an actual return.

IOW, “You’re goddamn right I ordered the code red!”

If Broome were confident in her abilities as mayor and her chances in the election, she wouldn’t be pulling Chicago style bullshite to toss her challengers.

She wasn’t going to make the runoff anyways. It was going to be SWB vs a Republican since the primary is on the presidential Election Day.

I was in the fence between Watson and Wicker.

E Eric Guirard, just moved up on my list to maybe if Watson gets disqualified.

It’s funny how much this board likes Tara Wicker like they like Jim Webb and Tulsi. They’re all just the smartest retard at special ed school. Just because she’s not as quite as much of a dumbass as every other democrat doesn’t make her a good candidate.

I don’t necessarily LIKE Wicker but I figure she is the better of two evils.

At this point I would vote for Kip if it meant SWB goes back to whatever sewer she crawled out of.

Kip getting elected again would be fantastic for this city.
