I thought Piazza's camp had dropped the lawsuit? The only lawsuit remaining on Watson is from Broome's camp right?
Upon further review, that is correct. Cormier's lawsuit is still active.

The shimmy is that in order for the Broome camp to even know about the unfiled taxes, someone at DNR would have had to commit an ethics violation to tip them off. The fact that the person at DNR in charge of checking this stuff is married to a Broome staffer is an obvious conflict of interest.
This is where it’s gonna get really really nasty at..

Watson is divorced, and has kids. Maybe he doesn't want to commit to buying a house as a single guy?
But he's ready to commit to leading the parish? C'mon man. I'm going to vote for him anyway, but the point remains.
Yeah, why won't he commit to raising his kids in a failing parish unless he becomes Mayor?

exactly
THAT is the real story
WHERE YOU AT, ADVOCATE? I KNOW YOUR EMPLOYEES ARE READING THIS THREAD RIGHT NOW

Advocate doesn’t have to handle that one... yet.
Legally, Wicker can file civil charges over unauthorized access to her tax returns and demand that criminal charges be filed too.

I don't get this criticism. Dude went through a divorce. Most guys who go through divorce have to rent for a while. Besides, it's not like metro council members are rolling in the dough (unless they're engaged in some serious corruption).

We need Kiran Chawla on this, but unfortunately she doesn't have a platform.
Posted on 8/13/20 at 2:03 pm to kadillak
Chawla can run an aerial attack investigation on social media and YouTube.
Nakamoto can run his attack from the ground and on TV.
All we need is someone to run an attack over local radio.
All out military strategy

Someone fire up the Nakamoto signal.

Seeing what happened to Kiran at WAFB (and WBRZ being SWB's former employer), I don't see Nak coming near this.
Posted on 8/13/20 at 2:15 pm to kadillak
Nak should 100% dive into it.
WBRZ knows the rep Nak has and will be dammed if they loose him.

OK. I'm not saying that did or didn't happen. But under LA public records law, filing or not filing a tax return is public record.
So all someone would have to do is file a public records request asking for confirmation that LDR has the returns for the five years in question.
LDR would have to respond yes or no, if they ahve them or not. They are not allowed to give out any information about what's in the returns, just yes we have them or no we don't have them.

I’m talking about the situation where an individual at LDR “browses” Wicker’s account, notices a lack of return, and relays that fact to the Broome campaign to file for a public information request.
The SWB camp’s request is legal. How they got there may not be if they were tipped off.

How you gonna be in the public eye and not file your taxes?
Posted on 8/13/20 at 2:35 pm to OysterPoBoy
File with the state of Louisiana and have them lose the return.
It’s so common it isn’t funny.

DNR has a bad habit of claiming you didn’t file stuff you have proof from them that you did. There’s a whole lot of “we lost it, that’s your problem, now it’s up to you to prove we lost it or else it’s your fault!” with them.

Oof.
I wonder if that can be proven. That would 1,000 percent be illegal, yes.
