So will we end up with hostage situations?
Or will we end up with entirely too many body bags?
OR will we end up with both?
I'm so freaking pissed over this and I don't know a soul there.

No, I don’t, I just want my government to do what the British, French, and German governments are doing, go behind enemy lines, and save our people. Once we evacuate all of them, then we leave for good.

Situation is ripe for ISIS to plant a suicide bomber or 4. Sincerely hope I’m wrong. What a mess…

Both. There are going to be idiots who will find Americans and kill them and sell the women and children into sex slavery. Starting in September we’ll probably see a few beheadings with demand for ransom of the others. It’s gonna get bad. 9/11 is when see some real shite in this country.

Here was the original plan:
-We weren't in too big of a hurry to start getting people out or to evacuate the Embassy. Up until Thursday of last week the Embassy wasn't even preparing to shut down and was operating normally.
-The stated plan, as the Talian were rolling the country, was to have all US citizens in the area drive or be driven to the airport for evacuation. That included SIVs. (It wasn't even considered an "evacuation" at that time).
-Even when the order came through to the Embassy to start destroying sensitive material and getting ready to evac, that plan never changed. Those in charge still planned for and expected Embassy employees, other US citizens, and SIVs to drive or be driven to the airport.
-At that point in time, we did not have the troops in country to protect the airport. Yet, people were still being told to get themselves to the airport.
-At the time Taliban forces descended on Kabul, the plan was still for everyone to drive or be driven to the airport.
-That plan remained even as we closed our Embassy and announced its operation would be moving to the airport.
-Even as chaos started to take over, that plan remained.
-Finally, after things got entirely out of hand both at the airport and in the streets, we changed the plan.
-Yet, that change consisted only of a "Shelter in place" memo being sent out by the Embassy.
-When our troops finally regained control of the airport (Taking it over, halting domestic flights, and holding Afghan citizens reliant upon that airport at Bay via rifle barrel) we announced another plan.
-BUT....the new plan was for people to just go back to the old plan of driving themselves or being driven to the airport. Which, if you've looked at any aerial views, now is more of a walk.
-We rocked along a few days with this plan.
-Now, we've changed gears and are back to "shelter in place".
This Administration is on record multiple times saying that they, "planned for every contingency". It sure doesn't appear that way to anyone paying attention.

Yeah, forget that the Taliban and ISIS hate each other. That’s not relevant nor the point. This is:

When you leave Afghanistan like this, you won't have to worry about going back to war because you never left it.
How many Americans left behind in Afghanistan is worth us leaving?

Keep in mind that the State Department has admitted to having no fricking clue how many US citizens are in Kabul and Afghanistan as a whole. They have no idea how many of our citizens are in the capital city of a country that is an active war zone. Zero. Idea.

The scene at Kabul airport several hours ago per source from an NGO who is trying to get people out. Main problem is that it's impossible to pass the gates and get to the planes even if you are on an evacuees list LINK

ETA: Joe told us yesterday that we don't have to worry too much about any imminent terror threats in Kabul or Afghanistan.
Nevermind that the Pentagon discredited that immediately following his "address".

IS threat forces US changes to evacuations at Kabul airport

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Potential Islamic State threats against Americans in Afghanistan are forcing the U.S. military to develop new ways to get evacuees to the airport in Kabul, a senior U.S. official said Saturday, adding a new complication to the already chaotic efforts to get people out of the country after its swift fall to the Taliban.
The official said that small groups of Americans and possibly other civilians will be given specific instructions on what to do, including movement to transit points where they can be gathered up by the military. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss military operations.
The changes come as the U.S. Embassy issued a new security warning Saturday telling citizens not to travel to the Kabul airport without individual instruction from a U.S. government representative. Officials declined to provide more specifics about the IS threat but described it as significant, and said there have been no confirmed attacks as yet.

Exactly this. I truly hope Taliban has them on a leash.
