The Democratic Party is about Leftism/Progressivism. Progressivism is inherently anti-Americanism. It has just engaged in both the largest political hoax in American history but also the second biggest period of mass emotional collective distress . And it has embraced the kind of pseudo religious anti intellectualism that used to be associated with the religious Right.

I'm a Democrat. I LOATHE the current party's direction and leadership. I won't vote for them for anything meaningful.
I DON'T want to swap to Republican, even though I will vote that way for the foreseeable future, because we (the US) needs 2 parties, and if everyone abandons one, it will dry up and go away.
Under the current rules, most federal elections come down to a 2 party choice, Dem or Rep. In an ideal world, either candidate should be palatable, with some valid difference between the two. You need to have the option of voting for the other, or else a single party rule can shove anyone down your throat (think: what the Dems and CNN thought would happen when all the "real Republican politicians" were discredited, and the "reality show" Trump was the choice. Many anticipated that most voters would not vote for a non-legit (in other words established) Republican who wasn't a career politician, and thus they thought Hillary was going to win going away. It didn't turn out that way, but it could have).
Once, the Dems weren't focused on being the party of every minority, every deviant lifestyle, everyone opposed to basic society and religion. It once sold the notion that it was for the working class guys who had to join unions to get good jobs, people like that.
It needs to return to that, and to focus on the needs and wants of the law-abiding working class, and not fight so hard to destroy that class.
Is it likely to happen soon? No, not unless the voters remain 'true' to the party but bring in different leaders. Leaders who would run things in a sane fashion. You can't change the party by leaving it, you change it by remaining in it but voting out the loons. And by getting valid candidates to take their places.
Essentially, we need a Blue Dog revolution within the party.

All true and we should be talking about how many of these intellectual deficient, mentally unstable and American hating socialists are actually walking around in this country. They should be taken to task and ridiculed at every opportunity.
It took decades, dollars and American lives to beat back Communism and Socialism on foreign soil, yet these self loathing, country loathing and mentally challenged people somehow think their “power” resides in converting our country’s economic system to that which has been proven to fail.

True. This is not to excuse the GOP for its failings, but the Democrats are at a place where there is no reason to ever vote for one unless you are one of those things.
