So why are medical professionals wearing masks?

LINK

quote:

Surgeon General Jerome Adams Tuesday doubled down on his advice against healthy people wearing face masks to protect themselves from coronavirus, saying that wearing one improperly can "actually increase your risk" of getting the disease.

"What the World Health Organization and the CDC have reaffirmed in the last few days is that they do not recommend the general public wear masks," Adams told Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "There was a study in 2015 looking at medical students. And medical students wearing surgical masks touch their faces on average 23 times. We know a major way that you can get respiratory diseases like coronavirus is by touching a surface and then touching your face."

Masks also can give the wearer a "false sense of security" and can encourage people to be too close to each other, said Adams, and further, there are still mask shortages nationwide.

masks are only a tool to stop the spread from infected people (by dissipating their sneezing/coughing/etc) in almost every case

it's not about protecting the wearer of the mask

Not only recommended but are wanting to fine people who don’t. Amazing. Something we don’t know for sure if it’s better or worse but rather than giving you that info for you to make your own decision, let’s hold you as a criminal for not adhearing to group think.

90% of people I see wearing masks are doing so incorrectly. It’s usually pulled down below the nose. Sometimes I even see people have it pulled down to their chin. What is the point of wearing one if you are going to do that?

All in all, people love bitching about others not wearing masks when in the end, it’s a futile desire that won’t ever get the results they want.

Can this be used later to file suits against states that implement mandatory mask policies?

Symptomatic people (coughing sneezing) shouldn't be out at all!

Masks are nasty because only about 1% of the population has a clue about the proper way to wear, handle, sanitize and store a mask.

In the real world they are filthy germ laden vehicles for transmission of all kinds of germs.

Masks are 100% about feels, and feel good,we are all in this together marketing.

The general public has likely never been fit tested, whereas medical professionals have. A mask that doesn’t seal can do more harm than not wearing one because it gives the wearer a false sense of security when around others.

In my own anecdotal estimation only 25% of the people are wearing mask correctly. The dumb asses are wearing it like this:
