Bad because we don't need more immigration. We need a complete immigration moratorium for a couple of decades in my opinion.

It's called ordered love. It's a very human thing to prioritize people physically closer to you.

"But living a just and holy life requires one to be capable of an objective and impartial evaluation of things: to love things, that is to say, in the right order, so that you do not love what is not to be loved, or fail to love what is to be loved, or have a greater love for what should be loved less, or an equal love for things that should be loved less or more, or a lesser or greater love for things that should be loved equally."

There’s nothing in the Catholic faith about that. Pope Francis corrected JD Vance about that.

Amy serves her God and faith first then her country. I know a lot of Americans think that’s mixed, but it’s not. And it’s clear as day in the Catholic faith. Again,God did not choose America over any other Nation as much as you’d like to twist it to be so.

You may disagree, but that is facts.

Nothing in the Catholic faith says that. In fact, it goes directly counter to the way and life of Jesus Christ. She follows his way and word not the word of extremism Christian fundamentalism/nationalism

God also didn't tell us to let infinity brown people in and commit civilizational suicide. That isn't loving anyone.

Stop trying to use faith to push for immigration. It's weird. If you want to show them love - go make their country better. Don't make ours worse.

Quite the uninformed opinion. What kind of data would you cite to support this?

We've let in so many people that the white birth rate has fallen under 50% of the total birth rate nation wide. In places like Texas it's much more dramatic, rates are in the 30s. That's why we need a pause.

Ultimately my problem is: my children will grow up in a vastly different country than I did with a very different culture. I don't want that. There's also a plethora of economic reasons that are (IMO) just icing on the cake.

Just like birthright wasn’t intended for illegals, the 2nd amendment wasn’t intended for civilians and assault rifles right?

That is a fair comparison of using the MAGA logic on the 2A, yes.

The same as the "our country has changed" rhetoric you see packaged in various ways, ignoring that the amendment process exists for that reason.

They will rule the EO unconstitutional and say that only a constitutional amendment can change that status. The nationwide injunctions issue will be tossed back to Congress. The Administration loses all arguments and is slapped down by the Courts saying he has to go through Congress. The Senate GOP needs to grow a set of balls and end the filibuster. I don’t care what some Democrat Senate does 10 years from now.

The Repubs will not lose this one.

The birthright nonsense may be more problematic, but there's no way they (SCOTUS) can abuse the President's power on removing illegal aliens.

Slave labor is good, and yet he espouses ACB's generosity in snatching up some token children to further her career. You can't make this up.

Letting the SC decide and reexamine how Amendments are interpreted is a slippery slope. Today they are looking at the 14th Amendment tomorrow it could be the 2nd Amendment.

What happens when the court has a liberal majority and the 2nd Amendment is allowed to be reexamined and details changed.

It has been 127 years since the birthright citizenship was decided

Based on a loophole. It is a loophole the founders could never have conceived of.
