The Great Reset really is about population control. They need to make conditions so that normal plebs cant reproduce readily.

I have read a couple of books by Kurt Schlichter, from his Kelly Turnbull series. The background story on this fictional series is that the US is divided into two countries - red states and blue states.
The blue states are super liberal and the MOST important thing in their society is social justice, or the illusion of it, at any rate. As you can imagine, the elites continue to live in ocean front mansions and feast on caviar and filet mignon, while food and other necessities are rationed to the masses, based on their social status rating. A gay/trans/black is fed well, while a straight/white/cisgender male has to figure out how to supplement his rations - or starve. You have straight men identifying as gay or trans in order to avoid starving to death.
In the book, the government announces a cut in food rations because food production keeps dropping as all the good workers keep migrating to Mexico for better pay and living conditions. The government's official position is that people should be happy to accept less food because that is the responsible thing to do in order to save the planet (from global warming). And many people buy it, although many others are skeptical, but keep their opinions to themselves in order to avoid having their rations cut off.
I thought this strategy was unrealistic, but I see the same thing when watching the Biden administration try to rationalize high gas prices by telling us we should be happy to accept higher prices in order to stick it to Putin.
The pandemic has also shown us that people will do just about anything their government tells them to do, even after the government has been proven to be wrong time after time.
