Her body if she wants to smoke dope then she can.
um CPS removes children from mother's custody if the baby is born with drugs in its system all the time.

One of those is a victimless crime and the other isn't. But yeah, argue that.
A baby born with LD and health complications is not a victim?

So, how exactly does the OP ever recover from this thread?
I've had less progressive discussion with Decatur than what he's throwing up in this thread.

Jjdoc I wil ask again. As a physician do you have any first hand experience with any of these fatal marijuana overdoses?

Which is funny since the woman could have aborted the baby just a few weeks earlier.

sigh: Ok, professor. Please show me my math error so we can move on (seriously). I will dutifully accept my re-education. Get your "win", then get back on topic, please.
On trying to help you out here bro and let you figure it out for yourself.
Honestly kinda blows up your original arguement.
The % increase is not 2.9% but closer to 69.2% increase.
Make sense?

What? I'm reporting news that came out over the past friggin week!
LMAO!

You don't cite mainstream and widely accepted literature. No. You find quackery to support your quackery.

Which subject are you trying to discuss here?
That those selling pot should be more careful with their claims?
Or, that pot should be illegal?

Maybe. I'm really not trying to be a smartass. If I'm stupid, wrong, I'm stupid wrong. i don't have an ego large enough for that to really pain me. But I would like to know the "how" of why I'm wrong, if you would be so kind.
Calculating for the increase over a 7 year timeline is where I probably f***ed up, but I'm not completely sure.

Why have you backed off your claims of fatal marijuana overdoses? Will you be honest enough to admit it is false?

the state has a ton of info pamphlets everywhere regarding laws and the responsibilities of using it.
The problem with pamphlets: People actually have to read them.TV commercials work better I think.
I would like to see some educational ads showing both of my brothers, who have been daily smokers since they were teenagers.
Both are almost 50,have never paid social security, they do carpentry work to avoid drug testing.Neither 1 has any retirement plan.
It's sad to me,but I can't talk to them about it,I always get the same old stuff about how it's better than drinking. Now I realize,if I drank, the way that they smoke weed, I would have been dead a long time ago. They wake up and fire up,they smoke several times a day,and smoke like hell at night.
I have never had any desire to drink like that.
I am likely to drink too much tonight watching the game, but won't drink again for several days.
I have never liked drinking the way that they love smoking weed. That seems like the danger to me,and I know so many who are just like them.
I know plenty of alcoholics too,but I have only ever known 3 or 4,who were full time drunk. Those people live under bridges usually.

Nah.
Good old razor is just trying to use a common stats game with you. He's not wrong per se. It's just not informative on its own.
He's talking relative increase while you're talking absolute increase.
People love to use relative increases when absolute increases aren't scary.
For example. Let's say I told you that if you eat a particular food, your chances of dying from a particular disease quadruple? You might say, "shite, let me not eat that".
But, what if I told you that your chances went from 1 in a Trillion to 4 in a Trillion?
Still worried about that food?
Posted on 1/8/18 at 3:25 pm to MSMHater
Nope just multiply 4.2 ×69.2%
Posted on 1/8/18 at 3:30 pm to Razor Dawg
Ok. Read up on relative V absolute difference a little.
Understood, and thanks to you and Shorty for bringing it to my attention. Sincerely appreciated.
I'll take my lumps. But 2nd grade math, Razor? I have a 3rd grader. That's a bit of a stretch.

The funny part is that Razor, by virtue of his posts, is demonstrating that while he knows the math, he doesn't actually understand it.
A huge part of math is knowing HOW to apply it.
Otherwise, you never know when to ask for the missing variable.
A 69% increase sounds verrrrry scary. But, that info on its own is COMPLETELY non informative.

This is not even close to correct.
Every statistical analysis of the study would have the % increase at 69.2%...basic math

No,it's not.Its basic math and any statistician/ math teacher would use the exact same calculations.
Just because it doesn't support your narrative doesn't mean the numbers are flawed.
