Let's UGA basketball off the hook...we have no idea about being at the top with Fox.

Richt I think is the top challenger in-state for them right now. If he locks down the key pieces in South Florida with other out of state programs reaching in that cookie jar as well, might be the most problematic
Like the way we've continued to recruit down there with CKS.The area is a gold mine and it continues to get better.
Miami is logistically,in the best P5 situation in the country for recruiting

I believe he only lost to em 1 time and beat a very good '14 team by 24 pts.

Athens usually wins these polls ...alwsys amazing to me since we have,BY FAR the worst fans in the conference.

Why not? They were part of Book's monster recruiting classes.

WGAS?Bama sucked that year.
He lost to Ron Zook for Gods sake.
Team was loaded and got crushed by Saban in the SECCG and squeaked by a far less talented Purdue team in the bowl game.

The 2015 team going into the pre-season was supposed to be the worst team in UF’s modern history routed UGA
You guys had 15 guys drafted off that team the following 2 years including 4 #1's.
Too lazy to look up preseason predictions but seriously doubt any team with that much talent could be the "worst" in modern historty

the rant really this stupid? Mullen was in the West, a far more loaded division, and could win 8-10 a year
Nobody loads up on more OOC cupcakes than MSU and he only won 10 games ONCE and that team was boat raced by GT.
How many of those " loaded" SECW teams did he beat?

The only people who talk about 38 years ago are AU,UF and Bama fans on message boards. If you want to compare what happened 4 years ago to what happened last year I'll take that all day long.Gus has flatlined since year 1...not so much for Kirby.

Hell, recruiting services wait on that moment (usually tentative but real contact by a school due to camps) to rank kids like that.
Sorry, recruiting services aren't the reason SEC rosters are loaded with Florida and Georgia kids or the reason why Louisiana puts so many kids in the NFL

So is the NFL draft but I'll take my chances with as many blue chip kids as I can get on my roster

Do you think it's easier to get recruited and evaluated in Atlanta or say Podunk, AL or Podunk, TN?
Don't think it matters especially for blue chippers.A CFB scout is sometimes going to gravitate to the larger school systems and regions on the sheer amount of prospects but look at Nick Chubb...played in a shite region in a smaller classification.Didn't stop anyone from recruiting em.
quote:
If nothing else think of it like this: Would you rather take a visit to Atlanta to try and evaluate a huge number of prospects
If a kid can play he's gonna get recruited. Why do you think SEC schools hire DOZENS evaluators and administrative assistants?
It's their job to find these kids. With social media and podcast there are very little secrets in recruiting.

developed and developing 'talent' schools and most of them are located in and around population centers and that's where evaluators go
It's also where the best competition is and can sometimes work against a talented kid who can get lost in the shuffle of multitudes of prospects

If you're within `5-6hrs of a player in-state vs. out-of-state doesn't matter
