Students demand action after Penn professor's 'racist' comments about Asians

Brace yourself before reading her comment. I read it and I'm still trembling with rage.

Amy Wax, in speaking to Brown University professor Glenn Loury on "The Glenn Show," said: "Maybe it's just that Democrats love open borders, and Asians want more Asians here. Perhaps they are just mesmerized by the feel-good cult of diversity. I don't know the answer, but as long as most Asians support Democrats and help to advance their positions, I think the United States is better off with fewer Asians and less Asian immigration."

Those comments sparked outrage on campus, with the dean of the law school calling them "anti-intellectual and racist."
"Like all racist generalizations, Wax's recent comments inflict harm by perpetuating stereotypes and placing differential burdens on Asian students, faculty and staff to carry the weight of this vitriol and bias," Dean Theodore Ruger said in a statement.
Penn students created a petition demanding the school take action against Wax, a tenured professor.
"I think that the university needs to suspend her from all teaching duties," said Apratim Vidyarthi, a third-year law student. "She shouldn't be allowed to come on campus, she shouldn't be allowed to interact with students while this investigation is ongoing."

At some point, the tide turns and being intellectually honest will be a point of virtue again.

As opposed to actually being anti-Asian in admission practices?

I wonder if there are professors at colleges in China who hold their eyes open real big and say, “haha rook at me! My name is Erizabeth and I rive in Ros Angeres haha!”

No lies detected.

She said the country is better off with fewer Asians. You think it takes pretzel logic to find that offensive?
If a professor said the country is better off with fewer white people y’all would be bleeding out of your eyes with rage.

You forgot the part where she said, “if they are just going to keep electing democrats…”
I think you didn’t forget that part, in fact, I think that part is the whole reason why you’re upset.
Democrats have no qualms calling out an ethnicity as long as it meets their agenda, which is more power for democrats (communists).
Too many Asians getting into the Ivies? No problem, just exclude them. Make room for black and brown.
Too many Asian immigrants voting for democrats? Hey, you can’t say that!!!!!

Isnt she just discussing what the administration is already doing by limiting migration of Cubans and Venezuelans based on political affiliation?
By the way, she is just a lib trying to stir up some shat to get her speaking fees up, must be writing a book and wants an Oprah appearance.

I don’t have anything to be upset about, just laughing at this thread.

When it comes to open borders there is one group that pushes it relentlessly. They started it to begin with. It’s just not talked about

Hey look at you, the aloof cool customer, just laughing disinterestedly at the plebes.
First of all, no one believes you. You sure got your hackles up in your original post.
Secondly, since you’ve waded into the pool, the waters in which we all swim, you contribute to the contamination just like the rest of us. And by your reaction, it seems you support the actions of the university to fire and cancel (socially and professionally) this professor who dared to say something provocative outside of the democratic left-think playbook.
Is that not the case? Because that’s the most important issue here for many. Not the underlying comment she made, which probably could have been couched in better language, but in the knee jerk, goose step, reaction of the university reactionaries.
This rotten behavior and ideology of identity politics of the university has flooded over into all institutions of our society. The final nails to the coffin of our society are already laid out and are being driven as we speak.
It is right and GOOD to call out the grotesque freedom squashing tendency of cancel culture and to stand up for free speech. And when I say free speech, In this case it’s the freedom to express ideas in a forum, even if those ideas are not fully formed and may be a little rough around the edges, without fear of losing your job, your career, your social status without so much as a chance to restate your position.

Don’t Asians tend to vote conservative?
