DeSantis, that's in the cards either.
Trump and RDD being from FL, leaves RDD as VP to be a nonstarter. Unless they won by >30 EVs, Trump would get a Democrat VP.

A Trump/DeSantis card destroys team Biden. It also sets up the presidency in 2028 and 2032.

Trump/Desantis would be a potent ticket but I think Trump is wanting someone who is more of an outsider/newcomer to politics and I think Desantis is too concerned a Trump/Desantis ticket loses and screws up his 2028 run. I would like to think it's still a possibility they get it together and at least discuss the possibility of teaming up.

1. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

This would be the dumbest possible choice he could make, and an assured loss in the general election

She says, tweets, and does way too many "controversial" things in order to be on the ticket with Trump. DJT already has so much contrived controversy surrounding him at all times from the fake arse media, his team of advisors will look for a running mate with a more stable and sensible reputation to balance the ticket out

In my ideal situation, DJT wouldn't have poisoned the well with Desantis and would've been actively supporting and endorsing him this whole time. Then DJT picks Desantis as his VP for 2024 and they blow out the Dem competition in the general.

Then Desantis is primed for his presidential run in 2028 and 2032, so we have 12 straight years of a Republican WH and maybe a little common sense returned to DC.

No matter what, it's going to take the Rs all aligning behind the candidate with strong support in order to stall the socialist entitlements and mass government spending agendas being shoved down our throats

Hawley, Paul, Noem would be a few that come to mind, but it's a deep bench.

I'd bet the likelihood, in this order, would be: 1. Marjorie Taylor Greene. 2. Kari Lake

Yikes. No freaking way he’s that stupid.

Presumably Trump would want to actually try and win the election, no? Neither of those options give him any chance whatsoever.

Like it or not, if you want a chance of success, his running mate will need to be less Trumpy than Trump. Not a Trump sycophant.

As with 2016, Trump will choose a candidate he feels will enhance the ticket. In 2016, Trump was concerned about the religious right. So he chose a guy I never was enamored with. If Noem is that person to reassure women in 2024, your "no thanks" won't be worth much.

DeSantis cannot be that stupid. There is no positives in that for him. Would be one of the dumbest personal political moves imaginable.

It also ignores the severe TDS that white women will have again after another Trump term.

Trump, if he were smart, would choose a VP that has zero future political ambition.

my goodness I couldn’t think of any worse possible picks. VP doesn’t even matter. Picking someone with as many negatives as these two would be an epic disaster. A boring safe pick is the way to go for choosing VP someone who won’t be bogged down in controversy from day 1

What about Trump's buddy Miss Lindsey?

The cult would fall in love with him overnight and start posting about how great he is.

My personal preference today is Paul, is that a winning ticket? Maybe not, but I think he would be the best VP.

Trump will pick someone who gains him some additional cred with xyz segment of society with whom he and his team feel is a bit lacking in support, perhaps to make a more credible run at said segment. See Mike Pence and the “Evangelical” segment in 2016. It’s the way of the world, and savvy campaignsmanship.
