Probably more so when they aren’t applied objectively
4 years ago the president didn’t control the gas prices but controlled the stock market. Today the president doesn’t control the stock market but controls the gas prices

You aren't following me at all. The big 4 investing IN anthropic, OPENAI, and their own LLM models along with the huge expansion of data centers which is inflating NVIDIA and construction-related companies.
Sure the other companies are invested too, but the capital flow is being driven by the big 4. And once losers are decided - that loss cascades.
Are you paying attention at all? Digital currencies? Data tracking? What do you think happened after the 2008 crash? The government helped big companies consolidate more power. The cycle is repeating itself, but this time the winner(s) will have much better tools for consolidation and control. i’m starting to think that’s not an accident.

This doomsday scenario that the economy is going to crash so hard that the government has to become authoritarian to prevent civil unrest is ludicrous. It's nothing but a fantasy for the easily panicked.

are you suggesting we had hyper inflation in the 80's your FIL must have high off acid, paying off house with a single check and struggling to buy groceries. having been 19 when the 80's began and 29 when they ended i don't remember any of that. maybe you could enlighten us with some specific examples.
when i asked you how old you were in 1979 why didn't you just tell me you weren't born yet, the reason you didn't is because i would have simply dismissed you having not the lived experience to put the embassy seizure in it's proper context.
you're an idiot boy and so is your father in law, did you marry his son or his daughter?

People had twice the buying power in the 1980’s than they do today when compared against the biggest purchase prices
people who think that 1980s remotely compare to today are retarded

Watch an old episode of the price is right. The deflation on some items like televisions and appliances is insane. A pair of Levis cost more when I was in HS than they do now, I'm 61

So…can’t reference anything, but you know it happened.
Interesting…
And I did like those Biden stickers. He and his POS administration deserved them.

Dollar at all time low in value
There would not be trillion dollar companies if the dollar wasn’t practically worthless

I think he’s helped but hurt in some ways
Tarriffs are not great for economy
High oil prices not good
High interest rates can be hurtful
He has work yet to do

.86.
the yen? it's traded in a 10 cent range the entire year, one year ago it was worth 148 yen today 158.
the yuan? one year ago it was worth 7.18 today 6.74 .

I cannot believe you got so pissed off at me in another thread that you came here to melt.
I never claimed tUSA went through hyperinflation in the 1980's. You are extremely stupid to think I did. Before I ask you how on earth you can even remember to breath with the low intellectual capacity you have, I will tell you my FIL was born in and still lives in another country. That country did go through hyperinflation in the 1980's and we talked about it just to ease my curiosity.
Now, how do you actually remember to breath at the low intellectual level you have there piggy?

these are you exact words boy.
you're genuinely an idiot aren't you.

I said my FIL. I did not say my father.

Yep. Nowhere in there is the words "my father". My FIL, who lives in a totally different country, on a totally different continent, did in fact live through it. I can give you a hint. It was Europe.
I see navigating modern life is hard for you. You should stop trying little man. You continually embarass yourself when you do try.
Be better
Be less bad.

The hell are you on about? I'm successful in my own right. That doesn't mean I have to be retarded and ignore facts that are right in front of my face. You can go on and on about how great you are, and how hard you worked, but that doesn’t change the fact that it requires much more work to be as successful in today’s world because we have half the buying power relative to home ownership today. That’s a fact.
