Yes - that bag of chips that costs 25% more now has 20% less chips.

Problem is there is like 50% of America that has absolutely no vested interest in the stock market and no investments of any type.
So to those people a booming stock market means nothing.

The stock market will always be setting record highs since it goes up in the long term. The Dow broke 30000 near the end of Trump’s first term and then 40,000 during Biden’s term.

based on your post
how was i supposed to discern that your father in law was living in poland in 1989 during the collapse of the soviet union? i suppose he might have lived in brazil during the currency devaluation in 1982, but you mentioned europe.
especially given this is a thread about the united states stock market being at record highs.
i was 28 when poland began to pull away from the USSR switching to a market economy and instituted draconian price controls.
