I grew up in rural south Louisiana. I’ve known criminals, corrupt politicians and even some connected folks. I’ve known folks you’d classify as absolute racists.
I have never in my life met someone from the Klan. Don’t know who they are. Never seen a flyer. Never been talked about.
Nobody has even talked about committing violence against people because of their race. I think this Klan is a myth.

Some mentally ill yahoo posts a copypasta "manifesto" to 4chan and shoots up a Walmart full of Mexicans. Actual impact to average citizens, nearly zero. Happens 1-3 times per year. Zero so far in 2020.

White supremacists gangs in prison assault/kill X number of people each year. Similar to black power prison gangs and MS-13. People inside join one or the other for protection.
Yes, properly labelled as white supremacist. Has little to no impact on citizens outside of federal corrections facilities.
Pockets of anti-government hillbillies in ID, UT, AZ, TX who are well armed and trained, but keep to themselves.
Labeled white supremacists because of a rebel or don't tread on me flag. Actual threat to the public, virtually zero.
Compare that with day to day violence in major cities. The majority is drug related, blacks and Hispanics. While unlikely to affect the average citizen, the body count is 100x all the above examples combined.

But FBI jukes the stats and puts out misleading information, media runs with it, social media blue checkers amplify it, and useful idiots take it as gospel.
