In our primary system the top to get to the general. So the more the R votes gets diluted it will be Wilson vs a Republican. While it's probably Landry the crowded primary will do damage to all Republicans and help Wilson (D).

Just friggin stupid or on purpose.

It's Louisiana so take a guess.

LINK

quote:

Republicans who are already committed to the race include state Sen. Sharon Hewitt of Slidell; Attorney General Jeff Landry; state Rep. Richard Nelson of Mandeville; and Treasurer John Schroder. Landry has secured the early endorsement of the Louisiana Republican Party and is far outpacing the others in fundraising.

Independent Hunter Lundy, a wealthy attorney from Lake Charles, is also running.

Former Louisiana Transportation Secretary Shawn Wilson is the only Democrat to announce. He has the backing of Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards, who endorsed Wilson Tuesday. Edwards is term-limited and can't run again in this cycle.

Good. The GOP here is so useless that they do not deserve to get elected.

What has the GOP done about NOLA/BR crime? Nothing, not so much as a peep out of good 'ol Landry. But hey, he's focused on books in libraries that no one reads or visits! The real issues!

What has the GOP done about the leftists who have seized control of the LSU system? Nothing. No bans on DEI/Quotas/Etc.

Where was the GOP during the Edwards/LaToya mandates? Nowhere, absolute crickets.

This "GOP" does not deserve to win.

There are no Republicans in New Orleans. They don't live there. I don't know what you expect them to do about crime in the city.

Landry has zero budget and zero authority to open prosecution for local crimes where he isn't invited in by the DA. And the day Jason Williams gives that invitation is the day the asteroid or the Rapture comes.

Not sure how that line of reasoning works.

so we all get screwed with a woke democrat again

What do you want them to do, the POS JBE has all of the power over agencies he can use ?

not so much as a peep out of good 'ol Landry

Ah, I see you're sore about Landry and likely one of those that will sit home and allow Wilson to walk in, congrats.

He needs to lead the charge on this grooming bullshite, you can't let this shite grow.

quote:

They can't do shite b/c the Governor appoints these woke idiots, and you not voting for Landry will allow it to continue.

quote:

No bans on DEI/Quotas/Etc.

Needs to be done but the Repukes in control made the deal w/ JBE and the democrats to get into the positions of power (Clay Shex and his band of 22 backstabbers). They won't buck the Governor b/c he owns them.

quote:

Where was the GOP during the Edwards/LaToya mandates?

Same cowards from above wouldn't do shite b/c they are owned by JBE and the democrats for giving them the speakership and positions of power. The conservatives tried but were shot down by a good ole boy Judge in the 19th JDC and the rest of the RINOs wouldn't do shite to reverse it.

quote:

This "GOP" does not deserve to win.

LA doesn't deserve to have another woke leftist democrat run this State into the ground b/c Landry hurt some feelings. Like him or not he will stand for your personal liberties and rights. The other side is actively racing toward global Fascism. You either swallow your pride and vote for Landry or allow the neo-commies to win, it's your choice !

So?

If the R candidate can't beat a black, pro-choice, democrat, then he is a piss poor candidate.

Let the candidates all put their ideas out there and let the voters decide.

Why do people think Wilson has a chance. He's no where near as safe of a candidate as JBE. A black democrat isn't winning a Louisiana Gubernatorial election. JBE was a safe white guy with the west point background.

Impeach and remove Soros DA Williams and maybe do the same thing to LaToya. Constitution allows it.

Thank you, this is what I am trying to make clear.

And for everyone saying that Landry doesn't have authority under the state constitution to remove Williams, then why isn't Landry calling for an amendment? That is the least he could do.

And a friendly reminder that the GOP has a supermajority and could override an Edwards veto on anything. Yet, there is no effort being made on their part.

So you think Clay Schexnayder, who got elected Speaker with the votes of black Democrats and has been roundly savaged by the state GOP again and again, is going to impeach Jason Williams and LaToya Cantrell?

And if he did that, what effect do you think that would have? They'd just call an election in New Orleans and somebody just like those two idiots would get elected BECAUSE THAT'S WHO LIVES THERE.

This has nothing to do with Republicans, and Republicans have no power to fix New Orleans. Not without controlling the governor's mansion.

He's running for governor. That's a position with power to do something about turds like Williams, and he can win that race this year and have the authority to make change in January. Wouldn't you say that's a cleaner and easier road to reform than trying to change the constitution so he can "disenfranchise" the urban black voters in the state or whatever other horseshite they'll say about him in advance of the referendum on that constitutional amendment?

What supermajority is that? The GOP has 69 seats in the House, not 70. They can only get to 70 if Francis Thompson crosses the aisle and if they get all 69 of their people. You expect Stephanie Hilferty and Joe Stagni to vote with the party on tough issues?

I get that you don't like the reality. Nobody does. The state is flat on its back and it's been destroyed by JBE and his merry band of retards with the help of the Schexnayders, Page Cortezes and the other gimps calling themselves Republicans.

But the only way to fix that is to elect more Republicans and have some standards about the ones you do. And the number one criterion there is that you elect fighters, not gimps.

Without endorsing Landry, the one thing you can say about him is that he's a fighter. You want to vote for somebody else, fine - show me where they're willing to go to war on behalf of their supporters and voters and against the Advocate and the crooked Capitol mob.

Who thinks that? We think he will get 35% and easily be in the runoff

People om here are pissed that the moderate Rs are tossing the election to Landry by crowding the race. Landry wins by default being the perceived conservative, and Wilson the most liberal

I just checked Landry's campaign site. Have a look for yourself.

His thing on crime is basically "yeah it's a problem". Wow, that's really effective. No solution is proposed. How about he suggests something like Mississippi, where they created a special police district and court system to oversee Jackson. How about a pledge to suspend Jason Williams and LaToya on Day 1? How about a pledge to send State Troopers into New Orleans to arrest everyone with a forged license plate?

His thing on education mentions nothing about the LSU system and the leftists who are running it. Why doesn't he pledge to ban DEI/affirmative action on Day 1?

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t it the 5th circuit the filed suit over the vaccine mandate for osha?

I agree, republicans suck. But they did us a favor on this one.
