If the Census people can send their workforce door to door simply

simply use them to do the SS checks while they are there - and if not counted on census, cannot receive SS.

ALSO - during the other 9 years between censuses, use them to do follow ups on potential SS fraud = checking addresses, age, employment, etc.

about the SSI program security system .

I’m not even sure if we are talking about the Supplemental Security Income program (SSI), but sure since you brought it up, let’s go there. I only see mention of Social Security in the article.

The amount of fraud in SSI (by percentage) is orders of magnitude higher than social security!

With Social Security, the only qualifications are that, a) you paid into it over enough quarters, and b) you’re old enough to get it. The fraud is mostly related to those families who continue to receive the money by fraud after the person dies.

With SSI, any fraudster with the right coaching (yes this is done on a large scale) and willing accomplices in low rate doctors or counselors in the community can fraudulently get it for themselves, and even worse for their children who are coached to act out, or act dumb.

I’ve seen dozens of situations like this in my career.

And the retard doubles down and reveals his ineptitude.

Please explain how these people display "control" over our lives...and show your notes.

Perhaps try a better fitting tampon tomorrow

They are generally retired as well. Meaning they have the most free time.

On a different note......You can't seriously think that the people that truly depend on these checks will not be able to (happily) go to one of these offices to protect these checks?

So, efforts to prevent fraud must stop because they might inconvenience one-tenth of one percent of recipients.

And you think these old timers are handling these changes now via their phones, and not going into the SSA office.

Your virtue signalling makes you look weak.

Is this new? When my mom moved in with us, we had to set up a new checking account for her and change her DD. We had to go to their office.

It may have been because she had set up an online account but did not recall her info due to Alzheimer’s.

It’s so funny when leftist call Elon an immigrant, which he’s an actual citizen, and you communist fricks fight tooth and nail to keep illegal alien gangbangers and murderers here. We can all see where your priorities are located, up your arse.

Go take a lap, pussy

Some people will be inconvenienced by the new verification process. I'm sure media reports of mostly indolent SS recipients about how difficult it was to find a ride to the local SS office or use their friend's computer for online verification or use their own phones for online verification but that's just the cost of doing business to help stop the cheaters that are stealing from the very people you say you care about.

If they can get a new bank account and necessitate a new direct deposit authorization then they should be able to use the online identity verification or get to a SSA office.

This. My God, you aren't going to go creating a new bank account online with virtually no verification. Changing banking account info should be purposefully difficult due to the unfortunate amount of fraud. I would probably go one step further and allow people the option to opt-out of the online option and only allow changes in person.

All a team of hackers has to do is call the victim and the SS Administration at the same time. Hacker 1 talks to the victim and says they are with the SS Administration reviewing fraud and tricking the victim into giving or accepting the MFA response, while Hacker 2 pretends to be the victim and either providing the MFA code or getting through because the victim has hit an MFAO prompt

I'm not a SS expert but it appears to be a new verification process the SSA is rolling out.

This should be done absolutely but I imagine there will be issues implementing it

It is amazing to me that the same posters on here crying and complaining about how this administration is trying to reduce inefficiencies and fraud, only complain and try to poke holes, but bring zero solutions.

I dont think it is any secret that our government is inefficient with fraud taking place throughout….it is nice to have someone actually trying to do something about it. Any time someone makes cuts, not everyone is going to agree with it, but at least they are making changes.

I’m taking care of my mom right now and I can assure everyone that I, and 99% of the general population, would have no problem jumping through whatever hoop was needed to verify her identity online through the portal should the need arise. In the extremely unlikely and small chance I actually had to produce her in person, I could get it done. Someone who is absolutely bedridden would already have the legal powers documented and arranged and I doubt this would be of any consequence.

This is not an extreme issue at all and idiots running around screaming about it are just that….idiots. I have more difficult issues dealing with local utility services for my mother than what is outlined here.

So kindly STFU.

Nice MMauler... as another reply stated - this was epic!

If you want people to show up in person that’s fine. It’s not a bad plan in and of itself. Give them places to show up to.

Instead they’re closing field offices and cutting staff while also implementing policies that require field offices and staff

Was expecting more out of musk efficiency effort.. he is not really making any process and workflows efficient.. just reducing staff.

Recently signed up for ss.. I was able to do it online.. however my wife could not.. we called to get a phone interview appointment .. we got on assigned time they would call us.. over two months in the future.. on a specific day at something like 3:07.. if we did not pick the phone up at that moment.. if phone disconnected .. if sick if any reason we did not pick up that call.. we would have to resubmit and it would be more months.. this was just an interview so THEY could fill out the form instead of her..she could have easily done it in ten minutes.

Another time hsd to go to the SS office once.. line starts at around 6:30.. when they open the line is pretty set for the day.. not everyone in line will get in.. if not take off another day from work and try again..

Originally went to office to sign up.. went out to an office way in the country to avoid lines. Went in and wanted to fill out some form.. immediately said of we do not do that here..

Get to all of fraud but how about do what the description is ..
department of efficiency..
govt has lots of opportunities to be more efficient.. was really expecting ore process improvement.. ai etc

Musk has a very narrow view of what efficiency is at this point.. maybe he will expand and start making things run smoother.. faster etc.. but I think by then he will have lost interest and be on to other things.

That was not my point! My point was that there are a large number of Alzheimer’s patients who are bed ridden. Learn how to read, clown!

I said nothing about power of attorney, etc
