The increase would go to fund, building new schools.
Why are non-property owners, allowed to vote on such an issue?

If those new schools would teach renters that the cost of increased property tax is passed on to them, this wouldn't be as much of a problem.
But yeah, they shouldn't be allowed to vote to increase taxes on others.

Nothing I hate worse than property taxes. How did we allow ourselves to become serfs to the state?

So that they pass and stick it to the institutional racism
Or something like that

Why are you complaining about who gets to decide the rate of theft, or what the stolen money gets spent on, instead of complaining about the theft occurring at all to begin with?
Keep in mind that if you fail to pay $1 on that property tax, men with badges and guns will auction off your house, then evict you, cage you, or murder you to get you out.

Luckily, I don't live there anymore, but still have plenty of friends that do. Most are looking to sell and move away now.
Outsiders have turned Madison into a nightmare place, as far as I'm concerned.
Where I live now, is totally an opposite kind of place.

They're trying to increase property taxes for schools here in Hoover, AL too. I will adamantly oppose any such increase.

Why should people with no children have to fund their schools?

When you go through the drive-through to get your Big Mac meal today, maybe you'll get the wrong order and then get shortchanged on top of that.
I don't know about you, but I would like to know that the people I am forced to deal with on a daily basis are at least semi-literate.
The notion that non-parents don't have a vested interest in quality education is downright comical.

My kids go to private school. Why do I have to pay for public schools?

That may be true about the level of "competency" shown by your example, but beyond that, why should people have to pay for the leftist indoctrination of the society's children with leftist bullshiit?
"Hey!..Cool!..I the machine told the kid how much money to give me in change for my fries! Wait a minute...isn't that one of the kids that keyed my truck for having a Trump sticker on it??"
Ya...they're being "educated" with my tax dollars.

Hate to break it to you, but more schools, doesn't = better education.
We've seen the products that these schools are turning out. Why would you want more of it?
"More schools" mostly appeals to a certain group of property owners, those that think it will increase property values, so they can sell and make money. Rinse, repeat. Those are the ones that don't really care about having a permanent home, and don't mind fricking things up for everybody else.

That’s a good point but everyone can benefit from others education. If “no kids Joe” gets in an auto accident he probably wants the paramedic on the scene to have some knowledge. No kids Joe probably wants hwy engineers with the basics down. He probably wants a military protecting his country with at least a GED.. etc

So that over the years, Jatavius Franquais and Ajayla Delmonico get to walk across the stage, get their award/certificate/diploma, while competing family members use that handy air horn and scream the kids names at the top of their lungs for self entertainment purposes.

Exactly right. The biggest problem these days is we're teaching to the lowest common denominator instead of trying to ensure our best students thrive. And I'm not talking about the "lowest common denominator" as in little Joey who struggles in math, I'm talking about the "lowest common denominator" as in kids with behavioral problems disrupting class and ruining the opportunity for other kids to learn.
They've got a kid who I assume is autistic in my daughter's Kindergarten class. He needs an aide with him at all times and YELLS at the top of his lungs during class. He clearly needs to be separated from the other kids, but that's not allowed anymore.
