He was answering a question.

I don’t really take issue with what he said.

If you were an Olympian during Obama’s term, you probably would’ve said something similar.

“I represent my country, not necessarily the current administration.”

That is true. It was pretty tame to me.

If it aligns with HIS moral values.

And just what are those?

True. And to some Americans we vehemently disagree with, his comments were patriotic.

Sad but true.

Insert any adjective that makes you happy.

I care not.

First, I've watched zero of the winter games. Grew up watching this stuff religiously, but now? Don't care.

No clue who this cat is, but how embarrassing.

You know, just like this board did during the Biden admin.

Chicken would be pleased that the PB has been put on par with the Olympics.

It’s mainly an issue of the media for asking a loaded question.

I voted for Trump 3 times.

Response is fine.

He’s an athlete. Not a politician or thinker.

He’s representing his country and family. Not the Trump admin necessarily.

Nothing about that quote means they hate the US. It means they hate policy of a political party. The parties aren’t the US.

You are an idiot…he was very clear that he doesn’t represent his country or anyone that doesn’t explicitly align with his value system…he only represents his in-group

They object to the chaos created by the Trump administration. That’s pretty clear…

I don't give a damn if the USA does not win one medal in the Olympics, all of them. My pride in this country won't change one bit.

Way too many other things to be proud of than what some entitled shithead athletes do or think in some athletic events.

Yes. The media is always looking to stoke division. Ironically all in the name of the mighty dollar and power.

The chaos being securing our borders and removing illegal criminals who rape, murder, and traffic drugs and humans? That chaos?

So, you think he stands up for those people.

When they interjected politics into the Olympics just because they had a platform ever how many Olympics ago, I quit watching. I used to really enjoy it and proud to support and cheer our bunch on. I am totally ambivalent about the whole thing anymore. I don't root for them to lose. I just don't care (except for the women's soccer team. I despised them).

Seems to me conservative Americans aren’t causing much chaos at all…and ICE raids in the southern US don’t seem very chaotic to me…maybe you should dig a little deeper, beyond your superficial layer

Shows how great their country is when they go to the Olympics and complain about their country. I remember when athletes should use the world wide events to escape their crap country. He should move to a country with the political views he shares and see how that works out.
