This will surely help 18-30 struggling peeps!

“Lawyer up,” was the two-word statement issued by incoming House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chair Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), whose side of the panel has already lobbed a number of inquiries at Trump administration officials

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) was even more brief, posting online only “Subpoenas” — a reminder that the party will now have the power to compel testimony from the administration and beyond.

“We’re going to bring accountability to those who have visited unprecedented corruption on this country,” Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), set to be the next House Speaker, told those gathered at a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee watch party Tuesday night.

“Because if you have people in high office who are so focused on enriching themselves, their family members, their friends or their donors, then they’re not focused on making life better for the American people. But House Democrats will put the American people first.”

Some Democrats were quick to outline priorities for the year ahead.

Garcia’s team indicated it would be investigating “The Trump Crime Family, Crony corporations ripping off the American people, Corrupt Trump admin officials profiting off the presidency, Associates of Jeffrey Epstein” and then specifically called out Corey Lewandowski, who stands accused of funneling contracts at the Department of Homeland Security to allies.

Meanwhile, House Judiciary Committee Democrats on Wednesday issued a job posting for new oversight, investigative and legislative counsel.

And House Homeland Security Committee Democrats told Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin to “clear your calendar.”

Several committees have also already undertaken investigations into Trump’s immigration enforcement — a topic shared by three committees in the House and two in the Senate.

Jeffries’s office did not respond to a request for comment on how leadership would navigate dueling interests from various panels.

There is a civil war coming to this country. Prior to covid I thought it was 50/50 due to Obama’s stain and targeted destruction of this country, now it’s a 100% certainty. The veil has been pulled.

We are either a nation that will live within the confines of the Constitution, or we are a nation of open borders, defund the police, BLM, gender identity false affirmations, welfare, excessive taxation to support the welfare that then vote for more illegals, etc.

There is no peaceful end game.

When the Dem’s go after the 2A like they did in Virginia this past year, it will spill over.

Corruption was a 90/10 issue according to exit polling, and you’re upset that Dems are just saying what everyone else wants? That politicians in this administration be held accountable for their blatant corruption.

Banana Republic? It started when the Democrats went after Trump, and it will cycle down from here.

Well considering it’s going to be hard to pass serious legislation with Trump still head of the executive, not much for them right now. But once we have a trifecta in 2028, then we will be able to actually pass meaningful legislation that will help them.

You’ll get little to no attention to your post. Obvious reason why; made more obvious on the ‘Insurrection’ of Jan 6.

The administration that brought DOGE in for an audit and also had 30x more injunctions filed against it by a corrupt socialist Judiciary?

Who was running the country from 2021-2024? It’s admitted now that Biden was incompetent by his own side and to anyone that isn’t a disingenuous piece of shite, yet somehow ALLLL of those pardons for crimes that totally didn’t happen are totally legit. We’re just going to pretend as a nation that that didn’t just happen.

A corrupt congress fails to codify anything despite a majority.

No SAVE Act.

And NOWWWW. Now there needs to be accountability for Executive branch corruption.

What legislation are they proposing to help with affordability?

Raising taxes? Open borders?

I’m as interested in the prosecution of “blatant corruption “ as anyone ….. but the focus needs to be on Congress….. because that is where the power and corruption lie. Executive Branch is fly shyte in the pepper when it comes to DC corruption …. really

As a Registered Independent (#humblebrag) who thinks Trump's almost as big of a piece of shite as the morons who voted him in:

1) Get us back into the climate accord/agreements Trump unceremoniously ripped us out b/c the Maga loonies think it's a hoax

2) Social Security.. I am Gen X and all my life one political party has been trying to "privatize" SS.. and incels on here today still call it a "Ponzi scheme"... Ive been paying into that fricking thing since I was 14 yrs old in the year 1993.. there are things Congress can do to shore up SS, and ensure that it is solvent for the next 15 or 20 yrs.. if not then cut me a check for what I have paid in, WITH INTEREST.. do not get it twisted- DONT rely on SS for your retirement, but on principle, I want what ive paid in .

3) Supreme Court.. fix what Mitch McConnell broke .
