Which you and I see as a positive.

Don’t think the MIC sees it that way which is why you get this type of pushback.

"Compatibilities" with the fleets of foreign nations that are threatening to take command of our military bases?

Leave them in the dust if they can't keep up. China is vastly improving the absolute garbage they've rolled out in the last couple decades, and we need to stay ahead.

Do you actually believe that those things will ever be built?

Some retired admirals made a f-ton of money after 9-11 selling anything and everything to the military and the newly formed DHS.

Had blank check and everybody whipped into a frenzy.

Fast-forward 25-years and our greatest domestic threat is some dumb bitch behind the wheel of a 2007 Honda pilot.

Well, the amount of money available for equipment procurement is finite, and Trump wants to waste a big chunk of it on this useless vanity project.

Share with us your knowledge of battleships please. What part is vanity? Do they serve the purpose or are they just navy yachts? Inquiring minds want to know admiral.

Rail guns, missiles, electronics etc Not Iowa Class with 16” guns. More like a souped up next gen destroyer only 35k tons. Smaller, faster than Iowa class. Advanced interceptors and could have F-35 Bs and choppers.

Good, we don't need large ships with massive crews.

Just need a small ship, limited crew, with flexible platforms.

Those ships will never be built. We can’t even put out a basic class of frigates.

The Navy isn’t wasting time on that albatross.

We don’t need more DDG’s or CG’s. We need frigates with ASW and multi mission VLS capabilities to handle smaller and isolated missions that are currently tying down the Burkes.

Some citizens are less than thrilled about printing the money to pay for them, and having to take a third fricking job to do so.

When I search for news on Navy battleships, I always seek out info from John Conrad V on Twitter

If we could actually build something I’d be fine with the money. The Constellation disaster was as easy as it could possibly get—the damn base design is already in service for Italy and France—and the Navy still fricked it up. Now we get Legend class cutters that will also have to be modified to hell and back to be anything close to what we need from a frigate. The legends don’t even have sonar

They fricked up the Zumwalts, the LCS’s, Seawolf class etc.

The navy procurement is so fricked that ten years ago we just decided to say frick it let’s build 30 more Burkes because we can’t get anything new to the shipyards.

Battleships are obsolete. Any midshipmen knows that. Hint...No new battleships have been built since World War II, with the last being the British HMS Vanguard in 1946.
