There are roughly 3.8 million children born in the US each year. If you had a $3000 credit per child for first 6 years the annual cost would be $68 billion in the hands of Americans

Better yet.... if someone can't afford to pay for themselves, they should not be allowed to have children. Rather than increasing the amount of welfare for additional children, end it. Get pregnant and lose welfare payments. Force people to take responsibility for themselves.

Say you got raped or molested. Submit to a rape DNA kit test and/or name your attacker if known.
Rapist if/when caught chemically or physically castrated on first conviction.
Child molesters euthanized upon first conviction.
The problems can be fixed if you really want to fix them. But no one really wants to fix anything.

I support child tax credits. I think this country would do well to support having children. That said it costs almost a quarter of a million dollars to raise a child in America and that’s assuming they aren’t your responsibility after 18 (you’re not paying for college, they don’t have a developmental disability, etc). $3,000 is such a drop in the bucket.
