The police make so much money off of it being illegal. The day I was arrested the same county also confiscated 300 lbs of marijuana in a day. That’s only one day! You better believe they are making a killing.

Um.

Only if they are re-selling it.

They prolly aren't allowed to do that.

I am conservative and do not smoke at all. And I think they should legalize weed, clean out the prison system and use those facilities as mandatory rehab/mental wards for homeless drug addicts living in the woods and such.

I agree.

I don’t think so. It would probably go down if we legalized all drugs though. Not advocating one way or the other, but I think it would.

I rarely agree with your stupid arse but this is one area that I do. I don’t smoke the shite. It smells like a skunk but to each his own. Treat it like cigs and alcohol and move on about our day. Rugulation will keep the fentanyl out of it if bought from WalMart or CVS.

Anyway, I know occasional users and some are ok dudes. Potheads are usually annoying AF. So there’s that!

Only way I vote for Trump is if he comes out for legalizing. Even if Biden tries to agree with him it is purely for political points and unoriginal idea.

It needs to be legalized at a federal level because of banking.

It’s Trump’s one way ticket to re-election, especially if Kamala Harris is the VP.

I would say not. Weed is legal in Chicago.

Old Republicans are holding this back. The Business of Drugs on Netflix has a good episode going into how legalization has actually been a bad thing in many ways. Worth a watch

It is/was illegal because of big pharma. Pot/hemp is cheap and threatens multiple industries.

The Feds need to de-schedule it and then leave legalization and regulation up to the states, similar to how they handle alcohol. You would definitely see a dent in opioid abuse, and be able to clear out any cases and convictions involving simple, non-violent possession. Murders might drop a little simply because you'd likely have less drug deals gone bad.

There is no logical reason, in a country that has legal alcohol, to keep weed illegal. It's only the powerful lobbies that keep it illegal today.

It certainly would for all drugs too, but even just weed would cut the numbers. No more drug deals for weed, or smugglers running it to the states that it’s not legalized in, etc. Is the violence the same as with cocaine? No, but it’s illegal status especially when you start getting to pounds can cause violence in the distribution network.

We should. I don't think Trump will. Memories of Fred Jr's situation are significant influences on him.

have a 15 yr old son and no I’m not ok with him smoking weed, but I can handle talking to him about it like a parent though. And keeping it illegal does absolutely nothing to stop them from acquiring it, and honestly might even make it easier.

So why do all these cannabis "distilleries" in legal states actively market to children with cannabis candies like gummy bears, cookies and lollipops?

Does anyone remember the outrage over Joe Camel and candy cigarettes and cigars in the 70's and 80's? What happened to all those folks?
