Why is everyone so excited about Landry?

Because they are unfortunately uninformed, low information voters and are acting like sheeple.

If Landry doesn’t debate, that would be a mistake. As much as he wants to be like Trump….

It started with me correcting misstatements. I'll chill out. I just think that Landry is going to get another D. He's that unpalatable

And I'm guessing you like the fake "code of honor" dick that is our current governor.
Yeah, you must be a psycho, cause I do support Trump 100%!

Nope. Never voted for Guv Honor Code.

And, I actually voted for Trump in ‘16 & ‘20.

However, I’m smart enough to sift through who is most qualified based on the most pressing needs of our state. Which is to improve our business climate for all, create a tax environment that is competitive with our neighboring states, and drastically improve our infrastructure. Hopefully you agree those are paramount issues compared to others.

And by the way, Wags is the most qualified based on those issues.

Nelson

I just want someone fresh who is not politically tainted yet.

I doubt he gets voted in.

I like Nelson fine. And I agree, he doesn’t have a path to victory

I follow him on Twitter and he’s pretty darn funny.

Landry strikes me as a culture warrior who will pick a lot of battles, but lacks the wonk to make any policy changes that will actually improve the business climate. I don’t trust him to appoint decent administrators to carry out his agenda or to have a real legislative agenda. Landry is principled and a fighter, but a detailed planner he is not.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this about Landry. I feel like he’ll be very much like Desantis in Florida. Picking fights to try and get his point across and losing vision of the big picture.

Can anyone tell me specifically how Landry is pro O&G? While he was Congress, he pushed more regulation to help his workboat donors. I have seen him talk about being against legacy lawsuits but he hasn't really taken any action while he's been AG. It just seems like a fluff with soundbites about being a Christian or supporting Trump. I could definitely be wrong, just point to some examples for me because I can't find them.

No because he’s not. He’s partnered with JBE to run them all to Texas.

The only question now is what other industries does Landry want to chase out of Louisiana.

Actually, Jeff Landry HAS taken action as Attorney General regarding oil & gas lawsuits.

I'd say DeSantis is probably much better at Governing his state than what we'd see from Jeff Landry, though I could be wrong.

Watching how he's currently going about things, and his lack of any state-specific plans/issues right now, I'm believing more and more that once elected, Landry would be more like Bobby Jindal. His focus would then see if he could spring-board into the national spotlight for some sort of Republican President or Vice President ticket, rather than bear down into the necessary nitty gritty of having to Govern the State of Louisiana and lead real policy reforms.

I do hope I'm wrong, though. I really do.

I’m just saying that as a person on the outside looking in. I don’t keep up with Florida politics.

I rarely come to the politics board. I really just came to see if there was any talk about the governor election. Glad to see I’m not completely crazy in my thoughts on Landry. He’ll win but my vote will probably go to Waguespack

Wish there was more on here regarding the Governor's race, as well as State Legislature. Unfortunately, much of that gets buried under the current Trump vs. DeSantis member measuring contest.
