Weird how the people who are up in arms about this Signal crap didn’t give a shite about Hillary’s emails.
yeah I uhh actually gave a shite about both...Hillary should have faced jail time for that. Several people in this current admin should be fired for what happened with this conversation. Both can be true. That said ive seen this board light up and "lock her up" and then turn a blind eye to this stuff.

Signal can be used for discussing classified information if authorized, as indicated by CIA Director John Ratcliffe, who stated that its use was permitted for CIA officers.
The CIA isn't a part of DOD though. The DOD doesnt allow for classified info over signal

Nothing. They're trying to make an issue that classified information was leaked but the INLY issue is that someone intentionally tried to leak it and it was not Pete Hegseth.

Most don’t give 2 shits and the ones that do are either trolls or the knee jerks who cry when MAGA not winning all the time. Thats most of it.

You Sir, have been nowhere near the military. Classified communication is done over secure hard wired phone lines or secured networks. High levels discussions about military missions are discussed in a SCIF and no cell phones are allowed in a SCIF.
I had Red Dot Clearance in Afghanistan and yes 36ID did indeed use Signal during COVID and Riot.Control operations.

No one really cares about the actual military or what was said, overall, because it is no big deal. However it was the lax OPSEC that apparently was a problem. Texting a military strike while standing in line at Ray's Hellburger is probably not a good idea.

Just another nothingburger.

The administration should come out and say it was a trap. We wanted to expose that reporter for liberal scum he can be.
We knew he was going to leak it so we started a disinformation campaign knowing that he would run to other media outlets with it.

Yeah, because that's totally plausible.
The administration should ignore the MSM claims that are trying to overhype this. But they should admit they screwed up and say something about how they'll be tightening up some things, and leave it at that.
Just because the media is lying about how bad it was doesn't mean that it was good.

Please tell me what specific targets were in that thread?
Please tell me what specific locations where to be targeted?
Please tell me how many F-18s or Reapers the United States own and did that release identify where they were located?
Please tell me how many minutes prior to the attack this information was passed to cabinet level secretaries on AN APPROVED ENCRYPTED APPLICATION.
Make no bones this is a self goal, but they admitted it was wrong and learned from it going forward.
This information was disseminated 2 hours before the attack. To be clear it is a violation of the law to transmit sensitive information on a non-secure platform (signal is not approved for transmitting classified information or sensitive information)If you cant understand why putting information about weapons systems in a chat two hours before an attack is dangerous then I can't help you. The target was discussed, because he was described to be at his girlfriends house. This has the potential to out an imbedded source on the ground. Lastly the Houthis have anti-aircraft guns. With 2 hours notice they could have been prepared to fire on the f18's and the drones we used during the attack (they've already shot down some of our drones.)

I don’t see the big deal either.
It’s refreshing to see people in the room that aren’t afraid to voice their opinion.
That’s what I would tell people under me. Tell me what you think and not what you think I want to hear.

Listen to what you said, "During COVID and Riot Control". Communicating about COVID and riot control over signal and communicating attack plans 2 hours before an attack over signal are not the same.

So what’s so damning about these Signal messages?
The key word is OPPORTUNITY. These bastards are obviously looking for any OPPORTUNITY to trash Trump, make his Cabinet members look bad, maybe even try to get one or two fired. Remember how Obama set up General Flynn even BEFORE Trump became President the first time?
At yesterday's PC, every question except 2 for Karoline Leavitt was about this, and there were 4 in a row that were practically the same. This whole situation was obviously a set-up, just like the Vindman situation that led to the 2nd impeachment trial (over a phone call where President Trump simply asked how the investigation into Hunter Biden was proceeding). Yet, Biden had Merrick Garland work with local officials in 4 different jurisdictions to actually indict CANDIDATE TRUMP, and the Kaitlyn Collins of the world never said one damn thing about that.
Hell, Biden even COMPLAINED about Merrick Garland, saying he didn't do enough to take out Trump. Yet again, crickets from the corrupt, bought-and-paid-for corporate media.

Nothing, it is Democrats grand standing on the smallest stool. It will be a weekly thing going forward.

The Afghanistan withdrawal was one of the biggest frick ups in US military history. We had 13 soldiers killed, numerous innocent civilians killed, including one family that was droned because intel thought they might be terrorists. We left behind billions in functional military equipment.
Not a single person resigned, and not a single person was fired over the Afghanistan withdrawal. But now leftists expect half of Trump's cabinet to resign over this BS? Get the frick out of here.

There's several conflicting things in all this.
However, there is one overriding principle here: when you hold a security clearance you aren't allowed mistakes in the sense that the presumption is the mistake is intentional. This is so actual espionage can't be attributed to "ooops".
However, that's just a presumption of guilt. If you can prove otherwise (I don't think Waltz can), go for it.
- Who the frick allows someone on a high level chat with just initials? That's a red flag right there. You see that on the list, you sign out. Full names and probably titles.
- No, "war plans" were not disclosed or targeting information. But, cabinet level discussions centered around go or no go are indeed classified and are very valuable to adversaries.
- many a person has died trying to "get in the head" of the US gov't, USSR, CCP, etc. Being witness to this type of discussion is indeed that. It is also an opportunity for an adversary to identify the losing side of the argument and potentially target them (as our own FBI did during Trump's first term).

I’d prefer the people in charge of our national security not “voice their opinion” in front of a journalist if their opinions are actually facts about when/where we are dropping bombs
Thank god it was just a journalist. What a colossal and stupid frick-up this was

They are upset because there was a group of individuals who were all part of a close team where they high fived each other and showed friendship/support and the democrats cannot comprehend the fact that there are people in government who actually work as a team that all genuinely like working together
