The ultimate plan is to load up the truck and head to the farm, which is as far from anything significant in South Georgia as you could be. The challenge and reality is we live north of Atlanta, and I think we'd be fricked trying to make our way down there.

Well according to this map, I need to revise my original plan. But basically grab the guns, ammo, and some food to get me through a few days and try to get to an area where we can survive. Problem is the EMP will likely make that very difficult.

Realistically, there is no place safe to go. Any place above ground within reasonable driving distance won't be far enough away.
Over the weekend I watched YouTube video simulation of WW III. Estimated over 500,000,000 deaths worldwide after one year.
Accounting for deaths from:
Nuclear Blast
Nuclear Fallout
Nuclear Winter

Maine, but unless you are already there you're probably SOL.

Depends. If it's above the Mason-Dixon line or west of Houston, I'd celebrate.

Almighty Father, deliver us from the Evil that surrounds us.
PS The map that's posted shows that the Fort Polk area is in the clear!

Be incinerated. I live close to Barksdale Air Force Base.

Find a desk and take cover underneath it. Did you not learn anything from school?

Radiation will get you eventually unless you have a fortified cement bunker that's considerably thick with enough rations to last a year minimum.

The Russians don’t have enough troops to take and hold Orleans Parish. Those tanks will be stripped in less than 15 mins.

Ha! Kudos and thanks for recognizing the rivalry ribbing (obvious joke) and not taking it seriously. Of course, I wouldn't celebrate if Knoxville got nuked. I pass through, eat in, or stay in Knoxville a couple of times a year. I have a picture of my daughter and I standing beside the statue of Pat Summit outside of Thompson-Boling.
I wish you all only agony and misery in football.

You sound like a fan I'd definitely buy a beer for.
