Which cities we talking about, here?

San Francisco, Knoxville, Los Angeles, Washington, Chicago, Atlanta, Austin, Portland, Seattle?

I'd celebrate.

Think that be as good of spot as any.

Hookers and blow would seem to be in order.

Putin has hypersonic (7000+ mph) nuclear capable missiles that we cannot defend against. We have stated this.
Our officials stating publicly that “we can’t defend against this” makes me think that they do have a defense system in place and they don’t want anyone to know about it unless we need to use it.

No military is going to admit they have a glaring weak point

I'd get my family to rural East Texas. Nothing out there worth bombing and there's plenty of cattle, deer, pigs, and fish.

I would stop worrying about global warming and start worrying about global cooling.

Get under my desk and cover my head with my hands.

My elementary teachers from the 80's would be proud.

Which city?

If it's DC, I'm celebrating.

If it's Seattle or Portland, I'm probably dead.

Washington DC is literally the one place in America that produces absolutely nothing and takes everything.

there is no secret defense system for hypersonic weapons. missile defense has been around since the 80s and it's JUST getting to the point where it can somewhat reliably intercept a single non hypersonic weapon. cannot even reliably distinguish between decoys and loaded missiles. the interceptors could only wave as their targets flew right on by. but that's ok. assured mutual destruction is still alive and well.

My sister and her in-laws have ~150 acres in rural WV they farm and load their own ammo. I remember her father-in-law saying how he loaded up on primers years ago.
I also have 2 close friends who have family who each own a couple hundred acres in WV.

Those would be my options.

Drive toward LaPlace. I want be as close to ground zero as possible. Ponchatoula being 40 some miles away might be enough to survive the initial blast but you would cook from radiation poisoning over the next hours and days. I rather go quick.
