So, turns out Russia doesn't have any diesel to export. The deal was done to bring peace?

The White House messaging has been all over the place on the "diesel deal with Russia." President Trump told us it was to reduce the global price of diesel.

NOW, the Secretary of Energy tells us that Russia doesn't have any diesel to export. According to him, the deal was made to move Russia to seek peace with Ukraine.

Maybe the strategy is to blame Ukraine in preventing Russia from exporting the diesel which Russia is already NOT exporting?

Did his experts forget to tell the President when he announced the deal that Russia didn't actually have enough diesel to export?

So diesel prices aren’t high because of Iran? Weird.

Saying that they don't export diesel, does not mean that they don't have diesel.

This month, Ukraine has successfully hit Russian oil refineries and diesel production facilities.

The White House thinks that hurts peace negotiations.

Sounds like something the Kremlin would say…

There is a big difference between "are not" currently exporting and "cannot" export

Exactly. Then why did President Trump’s October 9 announcement of the "deal" state that Russia would release over 300,000 tons IMMEDIATELY???

quote:

“I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, wherein it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace, another 500,000 Tons during the month of November, and 1,000,000 Tons immediately thereafter.

Russia will deliver, within a short period of time, 3,000,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel, depending on the condition of their Diesel Refineries.

Combine this with the Oil coming out of the Strait of Hormuz, Diesel Prices for Americans and, indeed, the World, will be COMING DOWN, IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST!

Lower prices for Americans, especially our Great Farmers, Ranchers, and Truckers, is my Greatest Priority.”

We already know that the harvest was done on diesel fumes. They don't have enough diesel for themelves. They have gasoline shortages which means they also have diesel shortages.

There is no such thing as a diesel refinery,

Yeah, off and on. Spring 2026 was big. September was big. And there was an escalation of drone strikes in October.

Jesus Ivory! You're now quoting Michael McFaul?

Seriously?

Do you even know who that lying SOB is?

As for the diesel, they have none to export because they had no one to sell it to. Prior the the war and sanctions, Russia exported ~1M BPD. Current output is about 1/10th that. Russia estimates it could be back up to full production by the end of December. McFaul's duplicity notwithstanding.

I'm not quoting McFaul. I don't know who he is.

It was a clip of Secretary Wright's own words.

There are many news reports out there that state Russia has enough diesel to export...now.

Why would they allow their own people to use it when they could make more money by selling it to us (I say this with a ton of sarcasm)?

99% of journalists are morons.
I think that their trains, trucks and farms need it for their economy to survive. The Russian economy has been phucked up since Spring of 2022.

There wasn't any duplicity by McFaul that I saw.
The President announced on October 9:

“I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, wherein it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace."

So, that was a lie...right? Putin didn't HAVE 300,000 Tons of Diesel to "immediately supply" to the "American and Global Marketplace."

It was right up there with claiming an "energy ceasefire" existed despite neither Russia nor Ukraine having agreed to one.

You were not quoting Secretary Wright.
You were quoting McFaul.
Apparently you didn't realize that.

Secretary Wright did not say Russia had no diesel to export. McFaul did. Secretary Wright said Russia was not currently exporting any diesel due to sanctions. Goodness!

I didn't pay attention to McFaul. I saw the interview where Secretary Wright said "Russia has no diesel to export." I searched for a shorter clip on X of Wright's interview. That's what came up.

Did you listen to Secretary Wright??? He said that Russia does NOT have any diesel to export. IF they change their behavior, Russia WILL have diesel to export according to Wright.
