Im sure it has very little to do with his views on LGBT. Probably much much more to do with him being an extremely corrupt murdering former KGB dictator who clamps down on any dissent within his country, pumps out endless propaganda that seems to misinform not only his populace but that of many Americans who are stupid enough to believe Russian state TV, who is overly aggressive and invades his neighbors, and who treats the west in general as an enemy and wants nothing more than to get the USSR back together no matter if the former members want to or not.
