I seriously doubt the numbers are accurate. China - as usual - has been lying about and covering up their totals.

Beachfront property in Arizona for sale. I’ll make the buyer a great deal.

You should definitely take those numbers as fact.

Go ahead and knock 30% off our number. Then you might be close to the truth. Then multiply China's reported deaths by...oh...50. And only then are the actual numbers real.

The US is doing more testing and reporting than any other country on earth.

We've been finding and treating people since this started. Because we have the best health care in the world. You shold thank God. In China they just throw you in a ditch behind the hospital.

Until we develop effective specific treatments and/or a vaccine, controlling transmission is the main thing that differentiates countries and we haven't done well at this. We did a poor job detecting early cases and our leadership has been divided in the approach they seem to want to take to limit the spread. As a result, cases are falling in the hardest hit areas, but there are plenty of pockets of rising cases even as states move to less restrictive movement policies.

Go look at the total deaths chart for China versus the world. Literally one day, China stops having COVID-19 deaths.

Except where the restrictions have been lifted like Georgia and Florida. There, the numbers have magically dropped by a third. This whole event has exposed how little our medical experts actually have a handle on any of this. So much has been driven by political agenda and OMB that I have much less trust in the medical field in general. “We’re all dying in here! Check out my Tiktok!”

Settle down. Friend of mine who lives near Wuhan said China's number is easily over 200k...hell, England said they believe the number is over 400k. I've heard Iran's number is over 50K.

95k deaths among 330,000,000 US residents. Can anyone tell me why we’re putting ourselves through this again?

Geez, Tigerdoc - reading your post, especially the last sentence, is like reading the common propaganda word for word.

How does it feel to be such a mindless conduit for pure shite?

For sure there have been some areas making progress, but the OP is sound considering the US has been considered the gold standard when it came to public health (e.g. when Ebola started multi-country spread in 2014, countries were looking to us for leadership). We've really taken a black eye here.

NY has 9% of the world's 330k covid deaths and 30% of the US total.

Because this 0.02% mortality rate flu is super scarier than the regular 0.02% flu. Old people like die and stuff. Which is like totally bad. And you have to like flatten the ventilators from like distance and stuff to be social.

Have you even like seen the news lately...
it's all over Facebook too.

Yes, The disease is impacting poor people, specifically people of color, at a higher rate. But the entirety of the sub Saharan African continent has largely escaped it...makes total sense. It’s almost as if there is no consistency in testing and reporting...

That is because how poor people here live. Diseases spread through behavior, not status.
