This whole debacle might be time to rethink the line of succession considering the spots the House Speaker and Senate president pro temp has in that line.
It's absolute bullshite how one opposing party may assume the Presidency and radically change the entire government just because something happened to POTUS and VP.
That should be a decision that only belongs to voters and the electoral college.

He/She is, but two spots behind...that was a thing though back when Reagan was shot as an example...Haig tried to take over when Bush was in transit. Honestly though, the first several spots in succession should be cabinet members in my opinion to prevent this very thing from happening we are seeing unfold today.

Short of video footage of Mike Pence and Donald Trump molesting kids, There is absolutely no scenario where GOP senators vote to make Nancy Pelosi President. Absolutely none.
This whole dog-and-pony show is starting to look similar to Republican's "quest" to repeal Obamacare. All show no go.

Maybe something like if you impeach the president in the House but he's not removed by the senate he gets another term

Sort of like the loser of a lawsuit having to pay the winners legal fees? If you attempt to impeach the president, and lose, then he gets another term, or your side loses 10 senate seats or something like that.

Every day I wake up and find myself even more surprised at the utter depths of stupidity that dims dig themselves into.

It's absolutely unbelievable. I literally have trouble grasping what we are witnessing in real time.
This proves, however, that they know they have absolutely no shot at beating Trump in 2020. None. So their best bet is to keep flinging shite at the wall and hope that the American people buy it.
So Democrats in power, please listen to my plea:

Call the vote. Go on the record. Make the inquiry official. And do us all a favor and jump off the nearest tall building or bridge when your plan backfires.

Considering this hypothetical if impeachment looked like it was going to be successful and if Pence had any, ANY issues, Pence should resign and Trump could appoint Devin Nunes as his VP. So this House impeachment thing is likely to happen so I hope Trump is lucid enough to not let the republicans get backed into a corner. Despite this, it would be suicidal if the Rs in the Senate agreed to remove their P and VP. Damn if they did, I register as something else!

I agree and I said something similar last week. I don’t know what their internal polls are showing, and I don’t know if they’re even accurate, but something is painting a grim freaking picture to the DNC leadership. This is ugly desperation.

What's the possibility that Barr and Durham are actually close to slamming down the hammer on 25 or more FBI/CIA/DOJ/ Former Administration officials, Rosenstein included? Dims are refusing to go to courts to enforce their subpoenas because of the time it will take. It really looks to me that they are speeding this stuff up to blunt negative incoming information. It's going to be horribly ugly for the next 12 plus months in this country. I hope all those nearly 80 and 80 year olds stroke out.
