Teen Vogue: “Black Power Naps Is Addressing Systemic Racism in Sleep.”
quote:
Fannie Sosa and Navild Acosta were tired, but it wasn’t just any old fatigue. Yes, they experienced a lack of sleep, but they were specifically experiencing a generational fatigue familiar to Black people and people of color. From this sleeplessness, the two created Black Power Naps.
“It came from understanding that the American dream is a sleepless one,” Sosa said. “ We inherited this exhaustion.”
…
“We’re dealing with an inheritance of sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation was a…deliberate tactic of slave owners to basically make the mind feeble,” he said. “That same tactic has only evolved.”
To help resolve this chronic lack of sleep, Acosta and Sosa are calling for rest as reparations. Yes, they’re looking for an ease to the many burdens that might prevent Black people and people of color from sleeping like systemic racism, socioeconomic struggle, and more. But they’re also looking for the opportunity to rest and have leisure time — time that will allow people to dream and heal.

It’s not inherited, it is being an a-hole and not going to bed until the clubs close every night.

We should allow the BPOC to come to work late and then take a nap, because, according to the Govt of the USA, coming to work early and keeping alert and busy is "Acting White", so, it's Racist to expect BPOCs to act White.
I got it.
Oh, and 14 Trillion US Dollars in Reparation payments.
Anything else? Let's get this bullshite all laid out on the table so we can begin drafting our Articles of Secession as soon as possible.

Does this mean Obama is still President because he hasn’t reached 8 years of CP Time yet?

As each day brings more foolishness (and published/promoted by major platforms), this is starting to make black people look bad collectively, however unintentionally.
Which would be identical in effect to white supremacists doing it intentionally.
I will say, this is the moment in history where I see more pushback from rational black voices from #BLEXIT and other areas, so that is very encouraging.
The sheer avalanche of ignorance is disconcerting, though, I must admit.

Is this just what most people call weekends, holidays, or vacations?

CP Time
A black colleague of mine invited me to a party, on the invitation she put "starts at noon CP time." I was obviously very confused because CP to white folk means something COMPLETELY different. She said, "oh it's colored people time because black folks are always late to everything!" I had to stifle laughter, but I appreciated how candid she was.

From what?

The solution to end everything is a compromise on a 30 hour workweek.

Proof Trump isn't a racist, NO Naps!

Funny part will be the KKK morons not having to give speeches but instead putting quotes by idiots like Nick Cannon our there to generate hatred against blacks.

Doing nothing all day long can be tiring.

Seems like a good bit of the AA population already has this down to a science

I’m willing to give them a full day of staying at home in the bed and not leaving the house... how does the Tuesday after the first Monday in the month of November sound?

I remember times when I was 7-8ish that I would get put to bed at my normal time but the sun was still out. That always felt weird I think I had an 8pm bedtime probably until middle school when it shifted to 9ish. Honestly I feel like I even had a “bedtime” in high school at like 10 or so. I don’t really remember at all but I definitely never stayed up super late outside of my room on school/weeknights. And now to this day I still go to bed around 10 most nights out of habit. If I don’t get a full nights sleep I feel pretty bad the next day.

I keep seeing dumb shite like this and have to wonder if it’s a troll. Read between the lines, and tell me what that article is really implying. To me it’s a slick way of saying black people are generationally lazy. Sleep deprivation is just the smoke screen to get idiots in the media to bite and run with it. I think the same thing when these idiots come up with a more attractive separate but equal demand. Someone is packaging all of these racist ideas and tropes in a way that they gladly accept it.
