And you are obviously an expert on Houston

I live there.

The same one with how many democratic mayors in a row?

Ted takes Harris county, easily which is pretty much Houston

Potentially with some of the non-Houston parts of the county, but no Cruz ain’t winning in Houston proper. Do you want me to post maps of how Houston votes?

You guys have been saying that for years and it just isn’t happening

When will it happen?

Florida never turned blue and is actually more red than it was in 2000 despite 18 years of minority’s growth

Idk how long but its simple math. It might not happen for a decade or two but it will.

The most absurd thing of all is that Beto isn’t even his real name. He just uses that to sound Hispanic. The guy’s actual name is Robert Francis O’Rourke!!! He’s as Irish as it sounds. The whole deal is a total sham.

In Obama, the Democrats had a half-white guy raised by whites who called himself black.

With Elizabeth Warren, they have a fake Indian.

Talcum X, the fake black journalist.

Now they’ve got Beto, the fake Mexican.

Map of how Houston voted in 2016. That’s a LOT of blue in the city proper.

Is it a good thing in your mind for Florida and Texas to be permanently blue?

Mexicans are usually conservative. They also are seeing the lefts racism. I would count on them. Like I said, California will go red...Texas won't go blue. Deal with it.

I'm just saying these Beto-voting white liberals are unlikely to send their kids to Houston ISD.

Sorry, I didn't understand. But you are right, except you are allowed to apply to schools you are not zoned to, and some people win that lottery. For example, one of the best public elementary schools in TX is River Oaks Elementary, which obviously doesn't fill up since those are the people that can afford the real expensive private schools. So if you are lucky, you can stay in public schools.

Few inner cities of large metro areas anywhere aren’t blue.
That’s just the nature of politics.
They’re one of the few places democrats feel at home.
But that has little bearing on the overall state of Texas.

And as I said in my first post in this thread, Cruz will win handily.

You don’t see a lot of Cruz signs in Houston because Houston is generally left leaning. Yes, even the oil capital of the world generally votes liberal at this point.

It won’t change the outcome though.

To put it in perspective, Houston exurb Conroe is the fastest growing city in the state. One of the fastest growing places in the country. Houston is ringed by areas of huge population that are redder than Houston proper is blue.

Same with Dallas.

Nothing about politics is “simple math”

People and groups change

If I told you in 1992 that the dem would only get 27% or vote in WV in 2016, you’d laugh

The Mexicans I grew up with were always making fun of liberals and calling them figs. They liked hunting and fishing and came from families with both parents AND grandparents around. They’re family people and good ‘ol boys, really. Doesn’t strike me as a reliable leftist voter.

If "cultural appropriation" is some big thing, the left tends to be the worst/most recidivist offenders.

...Trump, with the wave of a magic wand, has a Hispanic nickname...

Can you imagine Cruiserprog, Juicewant, Texridder, kickaprogitfeelsgood, BamaSJW, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, etc?

Oh dear lawd the melt down would be historic.

The reason we lean left, like most cities is that the population density in the lower income areas is a lot higher than in the higher income areas. Houston is much less left than most cities because outside of the 2 big demographics that always vote blue (Black and Hispanic), we are hugely red everywhere else. Hence Harris County proper (the burbs) swings it back to the right.

If the poster that says the Hispanic vote is shifting right happens to be correct, then the city would change as well.

But I think you are wrong about the sign thing. There is a ton of oil industry in Heights, Memorial, River Oaks, Tanglewood, etc...and they are not putting signs out and you can pretty much guarentee that the oil industry is 90%+ voting Cruz.
