Yeah I wasn’t disagreeing with you, just commenting further.
I think another big reason you don’t see Cruz signs is that he’s such a seasoned incumbent.
Cruz folks know their candidate. Heck, everyone knows him
Contrast this with Dan Crenshaw signs, which I see all over Houston (at least within CD-2).

You are correct about Houston proper being blue.

Just witness these guys talking about "their Hispanic friends are conservatives and I can't understand the sentiment that Hispanics vote Dem," when for every one of their suburban buddies, there are 20 more packed in the barrio who vote Democrat, illegal or not.

They can't see past the end of their noses.

I'm actually Timbergrove, which is CD-2, and I didn't really see many signs at all around me, for any of the R candidates. I voted KR first time, only because I thought Wall might be #1 or 2. I was all in on Ben the 2nd time around!

I say I'm in the Heights cause most don't know where Timbergrove is located.

Lol this guy has no idea what he’s talking about.
Cruz will lose Harris, Dallas, Travis, Bexar, and El Paso that is it. The entire state of Texas will be red. Cruz did extremely well in terms of GOP voting in the primary a few months ago. Beto on the other hand had a horrible turnout, considering the hype surrounding him.

Jesus what a pussy way to live.

People come into my yard round Christmas to make my deer hump. Who cares. I did booby trap the sleigh with a siren if someone pulled a "don't sit children here it's cheap as frick plywood" present.

Then I go do my best red foreman from the window.

But I think you are wrong about the sign thing. There is a ton of oil industry in Heights, Memorial, River Oaks, Tanglewood, etc...and they are not putting signs out and you can pretty much guarentee that the oil industry is 90%+ voting Cruz.

There is a huge influx of young college educated liberals in the oil industry that won’t vote Republican. The oil industry will be more conservative than other industries, but it isn’t near 90%.

If you go look at that map, River Oaks and other mega rich areas are still voting blue. That isn’t low income people in those areas. It’s just college educated liberals like lawyers and other professionals.

That may be a stupid way to vote, but it is what it is.

If you go out east of EaDo, I guarantee those Hispanics aren’t voting Republican.

Do you have anything to back this up or is this purely anecdotal?

Because I work in the oil and gas industry and I don’t see this trend at all.

Sure. I know exactly where you are (probably near Karbach Brewery?).
I’m just down the road from you in Spring Valley.

Go look at the map from the 2016 election. Most of the areas that are trendy with young professionals (like the Heights) in the Oil and Gas industry voted blue.

Who do you think is casting those votes? There are some staunchly red areas out west, but in the city even rich areas are voting Blue.

Thanks to Lupe Valdez being on the dem. ticket for governor, those numbers will be much uglier come November.

Beto has niche appeal among the gentrified urban set, and a neat retro-Texas logo... but will get stomped Wendy-Davis style by creepy Cruz.

The most absurd thing of all is that Beto isn’t even his real name. He just uses that to sound Hispanic. The guy’s actual name is Robert Francis O’Rourke!!! He’s as Irish as it sounds. The whole deal is a total sham.
Cooter, I have always liked you, but you are off-base on this one. The guy grew up in EL PASO, and "Beto" is just an hispanic nickname for "Robert" or "Roberto." I don't know if you have spent any time that far west, but EVERYONE out there has an Hispanic nickname.

Eduardo "Ted" Cruz adopted an Anglo nickname to "fit in" at a private High School in the Houston area. Robert "Beto" O'Rourke used his Hispanic nickname to "fit in" in El Paso.

BTW, Cruz will win Texas handily. He will lose the City of Houston and the City of Dallas, but will WIN Harris County and Dallas County.

Other than having a few barbecue joints, Austin has little in common with the actual state of Texas.

This is really interesting. I’ve talked to a few of my buddies I worked with in the past that are from Texas & they tell me that they have a massive Hispanic conservative population in Texas. I had no idea.

THIS and it says a lot about the type of individuals in each group's ranks. It is also another reason why the polls are BS and the left will never figure out why they keep losing in the process.

Well, Cruz is also Hispanic and Hispanics are largely Catholic. How friendly is the Catholic church when it comes to homosexuality?
