Are you under the impression that the Coronavirus doesn’t impact the heart?

Well, according to those compiling the numbers and those trying to induce panic, it IS necessarily ...

That is 100% exactly what Dr. Birx said in the press briefing yesterday....is she wrong or lying?

I'll have to see exactly what she said but I am looking at the protocol of one the largest health systems in the country and it does not direct doctors to declare cause of death as corona virus for heart attacks unless there is medical evidence linking causation.

If I had to guess, the OP is making a gross oversimplification or incorrect interpretation of whats she said.

ETA:

quote:

“There are other countries that if you had a pre-existing condition, and let’s say the virus caused you to go to the ICU [intensive care unit] and then have a heart or kidney problem. Some countries are recording that as a heart issue or a kidney issue and not a COVID-19 death.”

“The intent is if someone dies with COVID-19 we are counting that as a COVID-19 death,” concluded Birx.

Oh, what do you know? OP made a gross oversimplification (and borderline inaccurate) interpretation of what she said.

The one person I know so far that has died while infected with coronavirus was a 70+ year old who has had CHF for over 5 years and has been in and out of the hospital during that time. Supposedly the episode in fall of last year should have killed him and they weren't expecting much more time.

Cause of death was coronavirus according to his family. I am not sure if that was the officially listed CoD.

I have no doubt that the virus was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, but in his condition, the common cold could have yielded the same result.

Yep, and those stated protocols often go out the window when you add the human equation into the mix.

They're still counting the 17 year old in Orleans that died of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy but tested positive for COVID-19 during autopsy.

So you can say with 100% CERTAINTY that the numbers aren't being falsely inflated anywhere, intentionally or otherwise?

Is there a relevant distinction between "with" and "of" in this kind of statement?

It seems like you technically could say "This gunshot victim died with coronavirus" and be correct, while saying "this gunshot victim died of coronavirus" would not be correct.

So just to make sure I have your argument straight:

1) OP posts inaccurate statement

2) A clear reading of the what Dr. Brix said shows OP's statement is inaccurate

3) Large healthcare provider protocol doesn't align with what OP stated

4) Let's just assume healthcare providers will violate standing protocol so that OP's statement can be correct.

And their motivation for doing so is ...
