I get my paycheck today. I grossed a really nice number. However, between federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare, state tax, and 401(k) (7% with a 3% match), I only take home 60% of what I grossed.
Welcome to the ranks, baw.

Sure you are. You're just in denial about it. Had the same thing happen with Jake years ago. Just relax. What you're experiencing is normal. Try to control your breathing.

Taxes are a business expense, when you treat them that way you dont get angry, and irrational, and emotional, and sandy vaged.

Is a $10,000 bonus or less still considered not income therefore you don't have to claim it?
Any pay for services rendered is taxable as ordinary income.

Just keep saying that to yourself as you brush your teeth in the mirror
The only people that support a system likes ours are those that don't work, or don't work their dicks off when they do make money (actors, singers, reporters, Bill Gates, etc)

My sympathy meter isn't registering because, well, the urge to say "I told you so" is too great.
But hey. I'm gonna pile on.
Don't you go doing something like saving too much of that money and thinking you're going to use it to help ensure your family is taken care of after you're gone. The libs are gonna want a cut of THAT too!!!
And, I should point out that you should be happy with only 60% because virtually every liberal alive NOT in your tax bracket...........thinks you should pay more.

If you can't identify the problems like this without it personally affecting you, then you are still an idiot.
FYI, you will really get it once you realize that they are coming for more and are blaming you for not paying enough.

I W2 them and I'm the only one who can sign the paycheck...plus the wife has her own job aside from this.

Really?
REALLY?
GD no wonder your brain is so warped. A business EXPENSE is something a business passes on to the consumer.
Who does the middle class family get to pass those taxes on to? Their damn kids you mental midget. They get to cut 40% off their kids well being or inheritance
Now STFU

Hmmm, somebody is trying to move down my list.

Now keep in mind two things:
1 - They want more
2- They consider what you're paying not nearly enough, and any suggestion to the contrary means you are greedy and wish for poor/old people to die in the streets of starvation and disease.
Welcome to the fiscally conservative right.

Yeah, come to find out the wife received a "gift" that we didn't have to report.

I bet if more people didn't have money automatically withheld and had to physically fork their hard earned money over to the government, it would be the number 1 issue for most voters and douche bags like paul ryan wouldn't be able to go out in public without getting the shite kicked out of them.
I changed the fonts and DPI my payroll software program uses to show that data on each of my employees paycheck. It shows at 10DPI and in red now.
When I first did it I had several of my employees ask why they were being cut so much more. I replied that their rates had not changed I just wanted to point out how much of their paycheck was taken from them before they ever see it.
They were quite upset.
