Well semantically it’s because “indoctrinating” kids about gender and sex isn’t the same as setting them up to be sexually assaulted. Which is what grooming is.

Do transgender youth have a higher incidence of being sexually assaulted than cisgender youth?

I love this so much. Another stupid wanna be kiddie fricker that is projecting unto everyone else that, if they oppose, it is actually gay people they "hate", not those who want to frick our kids.

I don’t have to project, when you’re upset about a lesbian telling her student about her wife.

Yeah that’s the first step to that kid getting molested.

Question, if someone talks to children and desensitizes them to issues relating to sex, sexual fetishes, and gender identity, have no intention of having sex with them, and that desensitization leads to someone else sexually abusing them, would that someone be considered a groomer in your view?

He anally raped her.

He plead no contest to abduction and sexual battery charges in a second case.

So we should shift straight to the pure truth, they're Child Sexual Predators Targeting Children.

Evil is afraid of the truth.

Ive seen 13% in trans youth and 1 in 9 amount adolescent girls, so about 11.1%

Trans youth numbers jump up to 22% if they’re homeless (thank their parents)

the actual term at issue.
quote:

Why is it "wrong" (semantically? Morally? etc.) to call people who want to indoctrinate small children about sex and gender "groomers"?

The problem is the same that we encounter all too often ... definitions.

The OP (and many others) apply the (offensive) term "groomer" to people and activities that OTHERS do not believe CONSTITUTES "grooming" at all, while that latter group CERTAINLY acknowledges that there are ENTIRELY inappropriate activities that DO qualify as "grooming."

Is it "wrong" to use a descriptive term that EVERYONE agrees is offensive ... to describe someone whose actions do not fall within that term, at least under SOME reasonable interpretations?

By analogy (and I know it is not a perfect one), let's assume that three nights per week I consume enough alcohol to take my BAL to 0.06. I am not REMOTELY intoxicated, either legally or behaviorally. Yet a teetotaler might see me as a "drunk" because he disapproves of any alcohol consumption, especially THREE TIMES PER WEEK, no matter how legal or harmless it might be. In HIS eyes, ANY alcohol consumption makes one a "drunk."

He is almost certainly aware that his definition of "drunk" is not universal (no matter how sincerely-held by him), and is almost certainly aware that it is "offensive" to call another person a "drunk."

Yes, if he is even-remotely a polite person, the teetotaler should refrain from using that term in reference to the above-described light drinker.

I made this point in my first post to you and you were like "nah frick that it's not that."

quote:

Morally, I think It’s wrong to intentionally associate people with pedophilia because you don’t like them. I think The same posters who hold trans and gays to this standard turn a blind eye to other large well documented groups with known pedophilia issues. If this was about the kids we’d be fleeing the churches in mass and calling all priest pastor or teachers groomers.

Society is not exactly shy at this point in connecting organized religion to abuse. It's major news regularly, and gleefully so. The one "outlet" covering teachers bragging about indoctrinating kids on gender/sexuality was doxxed and then shut down and the only media coverage is to express disdain for spreading the own words of the abusers.

As a reference point, do you think it's morally wrong to tell 7 year olds that men can get pregnant and that thinking otherwise is bigoted or backwards?

You equate (a) reading stories to kids in a public library with (b) violent anal rape in a filthy restroom.

Not only are you an imbecile, you are a strange one.
