It's not Simone's fault. This option of "quitting" has been provided to her by society. This is a systematic acceptance of letting inevitable failures derail your life and goals, brought on by irresponsible adults.
As recent as 5 years ago, this shite would have never happened, now it's going to be commonplace for young athletes to crumple under pressure and be praised for it. It really has nothing to do with politics.
Lol
I bet you nor I have the 1/10th the mental fortitude Simone Biles does.

There were reports that at one point she had to have one of her legs wrapped. So, not 100% certain she wasn't fighting some sort of injury even if she says she's not injured.
It really is quite interesting that one of the most iconic moments in us gymnastics and us Olympic history is the exact contrast to the event in question. A gymnast overcoming an injury to not let her team down, not being afraid to fail, on the vault nonetheless.
I dont have any problem with simone dropping out, but adults apologizing for her and praising her for being strong is twisted and just plain wrong, it is what it is. These kids have to survive life.

If you don't quit on your team, I disagree. She may have had mental fortitude, but she seems to have lost it.
Others have too, she's not the first person to fold under pressure in sport, but her reason is pretty chicken shite to be fair.

thought the exact same thing when I heard Biles pulled out of the last event. There is no such thing as having pride in the country anymore.
Lucky you have been so loudly proud of your fellow Americans

pulling out of Afghanistan,
It was past time for it to happen. Nation building has been and will continue to be an abject failure. You can't bring democracy/republicanism to people who do not want it. All you do is waste lives and waste resources.
You're right about everything else, though.

Becoming the best in the world at anything takes extreme focus, dedication, and will.

ecause the Olympic Committee changed the rules because her routine was on another level compared to other athletes, so they changed it to make it more "fair" for everyone else.

We’ve won multiple golds in shooting.
And the 4x100 men’s freestyle was won by the American men.
