Am I missing something? What about Matt Gaetz's career leads you to believe he would be an effective Cabinet member? He's an obnoxious, back bench bomb thrower. That's fine for the role he played, but I've never seen any indication that he should be anything other than a low-tier surrogate on right wing media.

I wanted Gaetz because he has a reason to go after the establishment criminals. It has nothing to do with "owning the libs" or "retribution on the media." I want someone who is going to bring justice and remove corruption. Someone who has been attacked by the establishment is the most likely person to follow through.

The reason you couldn't come up with the actual reason is because people like you have created a caricature of Trump supporters in your head, and you base all of your "reasoning" on this false image. You still delusionally believe that MAGA supporters are following a personality and not policies.

I do not believe that as it relates to Trump. I do believe that it is true when it comes to these appointments and the general agenda. You all mostly favor those who say neat things on the internet, with pretty much no thought given to whether or not they have a chance in hell of accomplishing our goals.

I find it completely laughable that anyone thought Matt Gaetz was going to be the savior of the Justice Department. Because why, exactly? He has hot takes on social media and led a 7-person bomb-tossing caucus in the House for a few months? What has the guy ever done besides get elected in one of the reddest districts in the country?

I don't understand the infatuation with the guy. Anyone whose personal baggage is a distraction from things that actually matter, whether said baggage is justified or not, isn't a good idea. There are important things to accomplish, and President Trump has about 14 months to work with before our shitty perpetual election cycle kicks in. There isn't time to waste weeks fighting over someone like Matt Gaetz, or having everything the DOJ does hung up in federal court.
