Hats and hoodies didn’t do shite! People want to go shop without a bunch of loitering. When bossier police stopped patrolling it then it went downhill. Plus economy online etc.

No sympathy… don’t drink and drive and they wouldn’t have to set up a “bottleneck”

Instead of blaming the president maybe those businesses should have rethought some of their personal decisions.

It really sucks because anytime there is a glimmer of hope the state taxes the shite out of the glimmer so they leave.

My easy go to example is the movie theater business. A literal goldmine was being built here and then BOOM! They decided to tax it amd destroy it.

I was stationed at Barksdale and I remember we told people going to the downtown area to get a cab no matter what. Those cops basically targeted anyone who went out from Airman Basic to Colonel. Part of the reason I dislike LE like a lot. Despite me being conservative you would think I'm an unhinged leftist if you didn't know.

Went there a lot growing up. The people living within walking distance basically shut that place down. Once those with spending money stopped feeling safe, it went downhill, the clothing ban and no line youths after dark didn’t help. It kept the youths that had mom and dads going out money away because the parents didn’t want them getting in trouble and the ones causing trouble never got reprimanded and continued business as usual. The sonic in bass pro was moved out due to the poor demographic causing fights every weekend. The rent was high and once the money quit flowing in on the weekends, it went downhill fast as the nicer shops left. Social media has something to do with it as well, less going out to meet up on the weekends.

It was a shithole long before Biden got elected.

Definitely don't want to get your name on that sign at the gate. I was told it could be a career killer

I agree that inflation and online shopping has a lot to do with it. Also, the movie theater is suffering due to Hollywood’s failure to put out movies worth watching. Also, it is too hot in August to be walking around outside shopping. And the casinos in Shreveport-Bossier have taken a hit with the Dallas area gamblers who are now going to the Oklahoma Indian casinos instead.

Side note: I went to the Grapevine Mall (indoor) near Dallas last weekend and it was packed.

No.

Radio personality tours the Louisiana Boardwalk and claims 90% of the stores are closed.

He also claimed that it had “high fashion” stores.

It was an outlet mall.

It was clearly going downhill over 10 years ago.

For those who live in the area, is that true and can we trace it back to inflation and/or Biden?

Yeah my daughter goes to Centenary and took me there a few months ago. It's a ghost town. I think it's unfair to blame %100 of it on inflation but it's probably a big driver now.
