I’m stuck. I want OMB to take his place as President. On the other hand, having DeSantis as President and Trump packing stadiums spreading the word in a way the President can’t and letting DeSantis run roughshod over the elite from the inside has a certain appeal. Kind of a two fisted beating.
Either way, I’m good with one of the two as the nominee.

If Trump is going to run he has to be 2016 Trump again with a real message for voters. He can't run on rehashing 2020 over again. There's too many problems in America right now even though we all know there was funny business going on in places like PA and WI and beyond. Personally I want DeSantis to run because he has no fear of anyone and the team that surrounds him is incredible. He also doesn't get distracted by nonsense like Trump tends to do.

There’s 100 other posts like this, we don’t need anymore.

The Orange One is our last hope!

Ron isn’t ready for this level
Of politics, bribery and extortion. He’s unproven that he can resist the corruption he would face, Trump has gold bullion balls the size of Texas, Ron is a back-up. And until Ron is fire tested, let’s quit raising him to Trumps level.

We need someone who cannot be bought.

What’s Rons net worth?
Where he go to school?
What’s his degree?

Oh yeah, that’s right, he’s an Ivy League Lawyer, same as 90+% of all politicians. I don’t trust him on an International level yet.

For me, it’s Trump or bust! And call me crazy.”, but I’ll take Don Jr. & Eric over Ron D any day all day!

Don Jr. should be the face of the future imo

Here’s my view of the constraints of a first term President: for all intents and purposes he begins his re-election campaign his very first day in office. What this amounts to is that he must temper nearly every move with the thought in mind of not just running out there like a supersonic hypermissile and going scorched earth from day one because he just won’t be able to function in any notable way if he’s in immediate front line combat mode 24/7 his entire term. It simply doesn’t facilitate any environment for notable successes he could claim for the re-election campaign résumé. In such a case, the first termer would end up ruffling feathers of even a certain number in his own party for various stupid reasons, which although not legit reasons, it still is what it is.

Folks damn sure don’t like to hear it, but the reality of the situation is that the first term President must quite unpleasantly and unfortunately “play nice” with some parties who he’d otherwise love to beat down. Because another reality is that getting re-elected is quite important to the newly elected President because he will definitely want an additional 4 years to fully institute his prior actions in connection with his agenda - and you can’t do that from the house if you fail to be re-elected. So again, it’s an extremely important idea always at the forefront of the mind from day one.

So bottom line, that reality hampers the urge to go scorched earth from day one. Now, a term limited President, aka “lame duck” if you wish, that President has no such concerns as described above, no re-election concerns, and most certainly can and will go scorched earth from literal day one. We seem to be on great need of immediate scorched earth very, very soon, and needless to say Donald Trump would offer that immediate readiness with zero holdbacks.

Cliffs: Desantis politically speaking couldn’t do scorched earth immediately from the jump, but Trump could and I’m certain would.

How is anyone here quashing competition? It's not possible to keep Desantis from running.

frick that. It's exactly time for Ron to get in there and fight. He's a man of action not a man of words like Trump.

Why is it exactly time for him to run? If he doesn’t have the staying power to still be quite relevant whether it be 2024 or 2028, I see a bit of a problem with that scenario. If he’s the savior that y’all claim he is, how could his star burn out in that timeframe?

Because of this type of comment these threads are obviously not serious. It's a science vs faith rant. The better man will win. The only facts are neither are running for president as of 645pm Saturday.

Correct and if both don't run then the GOP is screwed.

If one of them runs then we all need to support either candidate because a house divided will fall.

Why do the Trump supporters have to keep causing controversy?!? You GOPe trolls are sad little creatures. Maybe you shouldn't spend thirty years screwing over your constituents and you wouldn't have Trump.

Ron doesn't seem like he's a GOPe guy. He's rather Trumpish if anything

He might be. We don't know. That is the risk. I am Team Ron, but fully acknowledge that he might end up being Mitt Romney.

Yeah I don’t quite get the position that we don’t know whether Ron is aligned with the RINO faction or not, yet there are so many people dead set all in on him, and not just willing to “take a chance” but declare that he is the individual we’ve been waiting for, a one of a kind anomaly who will perform miracles, essentially. All that based on what you all have personally observed thus far.

Something ain’t right about that. I think the Chinese have put something in y’all. And I care about y’all, I’m intent on finding an antidote.
