In short: it’s a base election....forget independents. Trump forced Biden to distance himself from his base.

This is what I said all along last night, but no, people think its those pesky moderate women that matter most, not base turnout

Bongino isn’t right here. This isn’t a “base election”, moderates and independents always matter, but that doesn’t mean the debate is where you get them.

The Trump team bought the YouTube masthead to push this video:

Message to Tim Pool

This matters far more to winning independents and moderates than the debate does.

You may be right, but is trump going to lose any voters he had in 2016? probably very few if any.

So, you get Biden's votes down to hillary level and....BOOM

eta - this obviously doesnt account for fraud

He could have still hammered Biden even more effectively without coming off as a huge a** with the incessant interrupting.

Biden is literally the guy that tried to subvert the peaceful transition of power in our country by supporting an illegal coup, but please continue to wring your hands about the big orange meanie who hurts your feelings

Wake up.

I think he is right to the extent that Biden was ready and willing to distance himself from the far left.

I just wish that Trump would have seen that, adjusted his gameplan, and seized on that even more than he did.

The debate isn’t how you get more voter turnout, but Bongino is dumb to think that independents and moderates will sit at home at the same rates as 2016 and that this is a “base” election. That’s a made up concept.

The Trump team is still targeting moderates and independents and they are going to win them. Bongino is just wrong here.

He’s correct.

Trump won.

Biden cannot win WITH the support of the radical left.

Biden cannot win WITHOUT the support of the radical left.

Our President will continue to expose (they are doing it themselves now) who the radical left is and what they want.

He did comment: “You just lost the left.”

not to mention his very first tweet this morning was regarding how mad AOC's peeps are going to be after the green new deal answer.

it might not work, but it was obviously the strategy

If the base doesn't turn out moderate and swing voters do not count. If you can disengage 10% of the base it equals almost 2x the possible number of swing voters available.

The electorate is roughly 45 - 47% for each base and 5-10% swing voters. Swing voters never break in uniform so campaigns are trying to pick off 2-3% to swing their way while defending the base and GOTV to get them to the pols.

Between the blacks Trump has siphoned away and the base he is convincing to stay at home by getting Biden to admit he isn't about the green new deal or Antifa he is doing serious damage to Biden and minimizing the impact of the swing voter.

If the Bernie bros stay home again it is over even if Biden outperforms Trump 2:1 in the swing vote. Simple math.

Biden endorsed then disavowed the New Green Deal all in one sentence thanks to a slip up by his buddy Wallace. I bet Wallace wished he had that back.

Rush was saying the same thing. Says there is only 6-8% undecideds which is very low. If this is the case Trump hit a home run last night.
