If he has that information he may release it, but not yet. He has to see who the nominee will be, as well as doing the math on how many Dems vs. Repubs. will be ruined.

He is going to win in 2020 and get the majorities back. You know Smelling Joe is on the list.

Here's all the math we need to know: the number of Dems and Reps ruined by the release of the information should equal the number of Dems and Reps who deserve to be ruined.

They can all rot in hell. Its one thing to use your own money to cover up your misdeeds, but it is quite another to use our money without us knowing.

Any truth to this?

Even if it's not it's another one of Trump's "I'm going to make some assholes pucker up just by saying I will" statements.

Not only is it crap, that it exists for the intended purpose of it, but also for how easily it could be used, to funnel free money to a pol's friends and relatives.
No questions asked, right?

Let's not damn them to eternal demise, but encourage change for good while understanding that they shouldn't be in a position of power and required to step aside.

I wish Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch would take up this cause. Remember the House bank scandal? That fired up taxpayers just like this issue should (and will). I think 17 million of taxpayer money was used to pay off judgements and victims. 300k was in the sexual harassment arena.

Where are you Pelosi? Gilibrand? Hirona?

p.s. If GOP'ers are on the list, get rid of them too.

For sure - each and every one of them needs to be fined, if not charged with sexual assault and removed from congress altogether.

I don’t care if Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and Dan Crenshaw are the only names on the list, I want to see if and the public should know.

It's there, and it's real, but I don't think we've seen any movement on it in the months since its existence was uncovered.

Which tells you that there are some big name Democrats on the list.

Otherwise, the media and Twitter mobs would be all over it if they thought it would bring down Republicans.

I've said before, I don't care if it is 90% Republicans. I want the names released and anyone on the list dragged through the mud and voted out of office.

The existence of the fund is not in doubt. They passed legislation last December to make them pay out of pocket for sexual misconduct allegations... going forward.

NYT op-ed (July 2018)

NPR (Dec 2018) - Congress to Make Members Pay out of Pocket for Sexual Harrassment Settlements

Reuters (Dec 2018) - Congress Passes Bill to Make Members Pay Sexual Misconduct Claims

Where the misleading stat came from that went around FB and other sites last year was that 260+ of 535 members of Congress had settlements paid out over past 20 years.

quote:

That report did not state that all 264 settlements involved sexual assault charges, that all 264 settlements involved members of Congress, or that the settlements involved 264 different individuals.

The Congressional Accountability Act (CAA) established a Treasury Department fund “to settle workplace harassment and discrimination claims.” Although this fund has been used to pay out settlements related to sexual harassment, the CAA also applies to “thirteen civil rights, labor, and workplace safety and health laws.”

According to Grundmann, a “large portion” of the aforementioned settlements stemmed from offices outside of the House of Representatives and the Senate and involved everything from overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards act to violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act

That said, the fund existed and has been used to cover the harassment claims, among other suits.

I'd normally sooner die than use Snopes as a source, but in this case, they are correct in refuting the viral claim that half of Congress was involved.

We already know Congress has settled 264 claims between 1997-2017 for around $17 million OF OUR TAX DOLLARS. The list already exists, it just doesn't name names.

US OoC Slush Fund List made public

What we need to also understand is that not ALL of these settlements were for sexual misconduct claims, and not all of them were against Congressmen. Many of them, yes, but not all. Some were for things like discrimination and work place safety, etc., and some were against Congressional staffers and other Capital Hill ancillary employees.

There are articles out there claiming between $10-$15 million of the $17 million were for sexual misconduct claims, and at least 90 Congressmen were involved in those claims since 1997.

Not only is that still extremely staggering, but I'm beyond pissed that they used TAX PAYER MONEY.

That's blatant theft, IMO. Why they are allowed to use tax payer money is as big a pile a frickery to me as the fact there were 90+ Congressmen potentially committing sexual misconduct and allowed to keep it a secret from the public and ultimately keep their jobs.

This is theft, plain and simple. There's no way to call it anything else. They are stealing our earned money we paid in taxes. Just bullshite.

You'd think that would/should be public anyway. All of it should be public period, but that especially.
