Here in TN. Word was they were going to try and take down the Confederate statue in the center of a town which is literally 90% Confederate history.
They had very sharp knives with them and were prepared to cut any ropes that people might be planning to deploy.
I think they outnumbered the protestors so nothing went down other than a few scuffles.
ANTIFA shite isn't going to happen in places like this.

This is how I like to imagine it....

I remember when the county high school there had James Earl Ray Day in January of 86

Most of the Civil War was fought in Tennessee and Virginia. The Battle of Stones River and The Battle of Murfreesboro. Close to Franklin. We need to fight for these Monuments.

I wondered when the liberal carpetbaggers would come for the Franklin Square.

We need stickier in-game threads if we are going to do this with TD reps onsite.

It is history whether one likes it or not. Removing a statue will not change history, nor does it mean people want to go back to slavery.

Why do these clowns think that statue is glorifying slavery or white supremacy or whatever buzzword they cling to? We had one in the town where I grew up. That statue literally means, "Men from this area fought in the Civil War."

People are finally saying enough. This needs to happen everywhere. Patriots!!

You don't have a police force that will address this?

Same happened in Brandon, MS recently.
The statue there is supposed to be the spot where local Confederates laid down weapons following the surrender. Edit: Sorry, it’s supposed to be the spot where arms were stacked during the siege of Brandon. Makes no sense why that should be removed.
Anyway, locals successfully defended it.
It’s called the Rankin County Confederate Monument.

Yeah - that is a prime example of what NOT to do - I believe if MLK had been allowed to continue leading the civil rights movement, we'd be in a far far better situation today.
