Very little - and I understand the weak analogy.

Nothing in life is totally black and white. But you know that

But not as much as the libertarians.

I'd classify myself with the Libertarian Party IF they were not composed of a bunch of mind-addled drug pissants.

Changing unjust laws are literally expanding freedom. Thats the definition of liberty.

How have you been a "small govt" conservative?

You don't need an active, advertised program going where if you brought in somebody from police, rescue or a family member who lost someone to drug addiction to speak for considerably less money.

Yeah ... rampant drug use is great.

The desire to have drugs has nothing to do with the crime that always accompanies it.

Nothing says "winning" like the look, smell, and general state of a meth-head, heroin addict, dope-head, pill freak, and such.

Oh ... and, their offspring ... they have it so well and are so set up for successful and healthy lives!

Yeah, it's really hard to think of any good reason why we would want to educate young people about drug use.

Drug usage is right up there with dropping out of school and being a single parent as the absolute keys to the American Dream.

DARE isn't the law. It was created to inform those of the law

Ok, but I was answering a question specifically about breaking the law. Also if it is government funded then it is thus through some form of law.

Yeah, the only thing I remember about DARE is it got me curious about what this shite was.

As I said, it only made me curious about what they were, since it seemed well over the top. about what they are telling me. Something that popular can't be that horrible.

Game of Thrones: Libertarian Edition

"Minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders. That's somehow still a thing."
"Good people don't use Milk of the Poppy."
"You're such an a-hole!"

Weighing 500 pounds is not a good idea. Weighing 500 pounds should not be illegal.
Using drugs is not a good idea. Drug use should not be illegal.

The problem I have with some Libertarians is that drug legalization is their only issue. It's the same way with Gay Marriage Libertarians.

The studies on DARE effectiveness are very long term and conclusive. DARE has NO effect on the future drug use of the children who go through the program. NONE.

When confronted with the data a DARE spokesperson had only one rebuttal ... "We don't accept the conclusion."
Translation: "We want the money to keep coming."

2) it's proven to be effective
what would be effective is to allow hospitals to only admit people who have insurance or cash. Then the police can take the high school kids to just outside the emergency room doors, where a few low life, good for nothing, dope heads are dead , because of overdose, on the ground with flies around them.

Police man: "this is what happens when you get addicted to drugs".
