Why are they doing this? Because they are worried that Obergefell will be overturned? If Obergefell is overturned, then the “constitutional protection” will be vacated, which means that the matter returns TO THE STATES. If the SCOTUS overturns Obergefell, then they would certainly overturn this new law on the basis of the 10th Amendment.
First of all, there is a big difference between Obergefell which was decided on a right to privacy basis which was the same basis as Roe, and a 10th Amendment claim. Dobbs puts that right to privacy reasoning in danger. I’ve seen nothing to suggest SCOTUS has any interest in going down the 10th Amendment road.

Shows Congress gives zero fricks about regular folks and real issues

Of course not. There hasn’t yet been a federal law passed to mandate the states provide marriage licenses to gay couples. Only then would there be a states rights issue.
That was my original point.

Yep, the election is over. State law will recognize but my church certainly will not!!

They’ll eventually make all church’s compliant on this issue if they want to function in normal society. Maybe not tomorrow. But it will get there one day. There can be no dissent.

None of this is a federal issue.

Why two people? What’s special about that?

How much of your browser history is tranny porn?
Also, Jesus was probably gay. Re-read your bible with that perspective and pay attention to the interaction between Jesus and John.

The Slippery Slope argument is a fallacy and there is no way this will ever lead to genital mutilation of children and drag queen grooming.
I fail to see how these correlate. Not all gay people want to frick around with your children.
Now marrying a rag doll or some inanimate object, yeah.

A marriage is between a man and a woman. America abided by this when it was a real country,
No, it became a contract with the government.
It means nothing now, people treat it as such.
Most people on these damn boards complain about marriage anyway.

Don’t you dimwits have books to eat or something?

They need to redefine it and call it a civil union.
Marriage = church
Civil union = guv'ment
Marriage = church

Imagine being such a pervert that any fraternal emotion is interpreted as homosexuality.

Another reason to not be an absent parent. Don’t expect government, internet, video games, to raise your children
Put down the bottle, get off the computer screens, and spend some time with your kids. It starts with YOU.

Same sex marriage makes no sense, except for the health insurance benefit for the partner.... It is a money grab, and we all pay for it eventually.

Yeah, because that’s the only explanation. It could never be that there are cultural

Yep, I can see it happening soon. Two gay men (or lesbian women) show up at my Sunday Catholic Mass and during the Exchange of Peace Sign during the Mass they kiss. Then dare the ushers to demand they leave. They want recognition of gay union as legitimate. That's what they want.
Make no mistake people. With the passage of this so-called Gay Marriage Act this U.S.Congress has declared war on God.
Jesus made it clear......
"Yet you know well enough that wrong-doers will not inherit God’s kingdom. Make no mistake about it; it is not the debauched, the idolaters, the adulterous, it is not the effeminate, the sinners against nature, the dishonest, the misers, the drunkards, the bitter of speech, the extortioners that will inherit the kingdom of God" - 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
I choose God.

Nothing but stupid virtue signalling, but this is just a trial balloon for codifying RvW. Besides, what is the point of doing this? The Supreme Court has ruled on the matter.
