Yeah, no shite. If it weren’t for Joe Manchin, Kyrsten Sinema, and Mark Kelly we’d have a packed court and two new states. That’s just as crazy as rescinding the 4th of July as a racist holiday that enshrined slavery into law.

We have added states a couple dozen times now, and we're actually in our longest drought between doing so.

whether you use September 22, 1862 for the emancipation Emancipation Proclamation, or June 19th, 1865 when the last active slaves were freed in Galveston, TX, or January 31, 1865, when the 13th amendment was ratified, i see nothing wrong with celebrating the righting or a major wrong from our past.
And more american's died in the Civil war that nearly all our other wars combined. Why not celebrate that sacrifice commemorating the end of the major reason the war was fought......
but, we have too many "federal holidays" already and i prefer ones on Fridays or Mondays for an extended weekend.....
