Can anyone direct me to a website that I can review info on the candidates running for secretary of state in LA? TIA.

Scared me, I thought Pompeo was leaving when I saw this

I get DV'd for a link to search results the OP could have done herself. - Outstanding!

Kyle Ardoin is a good guy and not a politician -- which is exactly what you want in a state-level Secretary of State.

2nd on Kyle Ardoin. He is extremely experienced which is unique for Louisiana

I’ll third Kyle. Good guy who won’t be partisan and knows elections.

Is he truly clean on all the harrassment stuff that took down his boss?
I do agree that the job should not be political. I'd like to see it become an appointed position, honestly.

For the record I didn't dv you and I appreciate the link. I had found that site but was trying to educate myself a little more on the candidates. Appreciate the opinions put forth on the candidates. Just hoping to gather enough info to pull the right lever.

No way he would be involved in that sort of thing. If you knew him, you'd understand.

I like Renee Fontenot Free but I personally know her and know her to be a legit public servant.
NRA, barrel racing/rodeo participant, tons of experience as second in command and has never run for office. She headed up elections after Katrina and also worked/works for the AG office. Hunts, fishes, and ain't a left winger bleeding heart.

I know Kyle and most of the other top candidates.
Honestly, any of them could do the job well.

Not voting for Ardoin. Too fat.

Went against the unspoken rule of downvoting any post that mentions downvotes in order to make a point to OP. I won't do it again though, everybody gets ONE

Julie Stokes=RINO.
I like Kyle. A lot. But that last minute qualifying dealio hurt him in my eyes. Just being honest. He went into the job after Schedler resigned and went out of his way to be up front about not running.
Then he decides on the last day at the last minute to throw his hat in the ring? It was a deft move from a political perspective as he would've faced a ton of questions from the Legislature had he said going in he was going to run. But from a credibility standpoint, you can't say that wasn't a totally political move.
Because it absolutely was.
Having said that, I have had little dealings with Kyle but he's struck me as a sincere, affable guy who wants to do well with the SOS employees.

We certainly don't need any more of these types.

I haven't spoken with him so I don't know the story, but I agree the last-minute thing hurt his credibility. My assumption is that he didn't throw his name into the hat early on because he wasn't a politician, didn't want to campaign, and maybe didn't think he could win. Maybe he enjoyed the top spot, felt he could do the job well, and decided to stick his neck out there in terms of a campaign.

I don't know him, which is why I am asking.
Thanks.

To say the State GOP is lukewarm on her is charitable. She built a war chest early because she’s had to. The more she votes-and speaks-the harder it is to focus on her story and not her completely divergent politics compared to her Party affiliation.
