I think one of the pluses with capitalism over communism is the goal of efficiency. Communism just needs jobs to keep the worker employed with efficiency be damned. Stalin didn't want his soldiers coming back from Germany to report how advanced Germany was. Nixon had his kitchen debate with Khrushchev in the late 50's over labor saving devices. etc.

100% agree - but my wife was in consulting and I was in banking and we both spent New Year’s Eve at our offices with all our coworkers waiting for the doom.
I think it impacted our response to Covid, personally.

I believe I was rude to most. There was a high stress point IRL they may have affected me more than I wanted to admit. I am sure, if you look through my post history, I was just making quick strike posts at everyone.

Settled a bit. Still dealing with IRS. You would think that there is enough people in this country, who have curatorship over their parents, that the IRS can deal with it easily. Alas no. I am almost to the point of begging SFP to cross over into tax law just to help a brother out.
