I worked for two very large corporations most of my career and when I went to meetings as a supervisor, manager, director, or csuite, if there was a minority in the meeting 2 things were true 80% of the time......they were the least qualified and the highest paid.
It was the "peter principle" to ensure minorities at every level, regardless of their merit.
